The highest form of knowledge is empathy, for it requires us to suspend our egos and live in another's world. It requires profound, purpose‐larger‐than‐the‐self kind of understanding.

As far as I see it, this monthly competition is a great idea - whether you allow for prizes or voting or not. What rocks is that people actually listen to and often comment on your stuff which would never happen (at least not with me) on this scale were I to publish in a seperate thread along the lines of 'Listen to what I did!'. Also, the themes force me to at least limit the time I can use. And in my experience, limitations can be very inspiring. I'd like to thank pHz for all the work and trouble he puts into it (Im sorry if I forget others who help, here).
On the subject of voting - I do like the voting because not everyone writes reviews and this is a quick indicator of how your music is perceived. I was just wondering - how about seperating the vote count from the prizes, for example let the voting decide what's the order of the entries and draw lots for the top 10 or 20 on who gets the prize.

I concur; the contests enable 'forced creativity' for me. The reviews are very helpful to me, particularly those that point out specific things they DON'T like about my tracks - the prize draw is really not a big deal to me - I actually donated the only prize I ever won. Your idea for a prize lottery is an interesting one that I support.
