Thank you, quite correct indeed. Perhaps these users are also digi re-sellers, but one only has to look at SOS forums, or as mentioned Pro Sound forums and see that LE should not be called Pro at all.FlounderEye wrote:You're ranting, just a little my friend - ignore the ad hominem attacks and make your point. Just don't expect complicity from all quarters.
I think Avid gobbling up M-Audio was a good idea at the time, but I don't think they forsaw the Apple to Intel (x86) move coming. This is a major blow to them.
Right now there are a few wars raging on, when Apple purchased Logic, this made digi mad so digi responded by focusing on Intel based pro tools, certified chipsets, etc, before that, Pro Tools on windows was very clunky (ported), Adobe also responded (they lost Premiere sales to mac) by releasing 6 I believe for the PC only. They are now back in development for the MAC (cousin works at the Adobe site in Boston), and another cousing is a Java programmer for Sun Micro, in fact, I had to tell him Sun was about to use AMD and he didn't have a clue
On the other side, there is the Yamaha/Pinnacle/Steinberg war which relys on Host processing which in time got stronger, (thus Digi buying M-Audio) and then Steinberg tried to release a system bundled with powercore or UAD, can't recall, but it didn't go over to well.
But the biggest change and blow to digi right now as well as Avid, is Apples use of the intel (and AMD) chips. They (Apple) aren't stupid, claim intel, let intel invest $$$ into R&D, then AMD can step in any time.
One main reason Apple users went to PC was AMD, AMD simply had the upper hand in terms of RAW horse power, and of course, Gigastudio. This however has changed somewhat in the past years....with Rewire, Native Instruments, Garage Band (former Acid developers by the way), and the Apple started to have more of the PC plug-ins......and with Logic, Final Cut, and Motion, I forsee Apple doing very well with this x86 transition and if PC users can use their purchased x86 plug-ins on a MAC, I see users jumping ship back to Apple especially since Longhorn has some hardware copy protection that some think are violating (personal opinions though)....
We'll have to wait and see.

Any one can compile a series of questions and anyone could Google answers. Your previous posts and the nature of your questions betray your lack of knowledge. I never said you didnt work in the industry, any admin staffer could answer or pose those questions. I said you dont work at any serious level. You actally sound like a "student" from one of those dodgy production courses. The way you name drop also identifies you as an outsider to this level.
Give me the 3 inital letters of the 'Tools artists only private site. How is it accessed. Correct answer will illicit my total retraction and an apology. No ranting or protracted posts are needed by me, i dont have time.

You can not google the anwsers to the questions I posed.....it's impossible. If you knew the anwsers they are simple to anwser from the top of your head with the same quickness that I came up with them.coldmachine wrote:Any one can compile a series of questions and anyone could Google answers. Regarding your question, you said I didn't work in any serious level. Perhaps if you tell me the place where real composers go now to chat or how about the name of the "insider" sample cds/dvd's that many Hollywood composers share, I will listen.
How about a simple one, EWQLSO is Kontakt only not Giga, but does a GIGA copy exist? If so, how many copies and who has them?
..........and the testing continues....

And what are you proving? Do you really need that? I say no. You're cool. Your points sound valid. Will it change a thing? No. So what? Use Nuendo or something like that with OMF. This should do with your laptop. Whatcha think? Not close onough to ProTools? But a real solution ...

Maybe he was banned for saying he had friends in Nashville. Or just for being long winded and hard to understand. I don't understand what he's on about.Trailerman wrote:Hmmm - checked those threads and can't quite see why you were banned, although a lot of your posts were basically just saying Digi sucks.
If you don't like PT or Digi, don't buy their stuff, it's that simple.
If you work for someone else and you don't get to make that decision, well, you work for someone else. Become successful and make better decisions for your own business. Or at least, become important enough to your employer that he will be persuaded by your opinion.
I guess I really don't see the problem. It's not wise to badmouth a company's product on their support forum. Of *course* you'll get kicked for doing that. It's their forum.

Banning people and things might make a good company look
bad. But I agree, hard for that to happen in Digis case.
