If Live were to offer a crossgrade price to Tracktion users right now they'd clean up. The only thing stopping me switching is the price and the fact that I do like Tracktion's way of working - when it works that is. As I only paid $20 for the upgrade I can be patient but it is frustrating that the most serious bugs don't seem to have been addressed - I hope this does not imply that they are not possible to fix (at least without a substantial rewrite).

I think a clean-up around here would be good  . But for the price of Tracktion, I dont think they could offer much of a crossgrade or they'd be doin Tracktion a favor. Cuz then people would buy Tracktion just to get Live. Besides I dont think Live needs any more help to get more sales. They have certain users that go around bashing Tracktion and Praising Live that are very dedicated. Not naming any names haha.

There ARE a strange number of eXT and Live users that stick around the RMS forums. :o Can't really speculate about WHY....

Are people really having that much trouble with T2? I've been using T1.6 without much issue, and the T2 demo without a single problem.

I'm sure as hell NOT. T2 is still running on all cylinders here. I love it. Fast, Fun, Functional.

I had ocassionally really annoying problems with rendering (once or twice I tried a whole afternoon just to correctly render the damned song and ended up using Tape It)
Also there were some other annoying issues - but all in all Tracktion is pretty damned tight and stable and its auto-save function is something every sequencer should have. (it periodically saves a temp-file) One day the power went down in my flat and when I restarted my computer and Tracktion and loaded up the song I've been working on Tracktion asked me kindly if I rather wanted to work on a newer temp-file than the one I had saved myself! :o - 'Bravo' for that! :-D 8)

What sort of issues, if I may ask?

 I don't recall them specifically anymore right now tbh...
- most of it must have appeared more than a year ago... :-)

If you are running the T2 demo without any issues then I really can't think of a single reason for you not to upgrade today

The issues that I have had with T2 are I'm fairly certain due to "system specific" problems relating to conflicts with my hardware (particularly my graphics card, I suspect) and other software (i.e. Reason). Obviously no such conflicts exist on your system, which is good news for you!

It's not unfair to point out that some developers these days consider it worth their while to invest in enormous public beta testing projects to prevent system specific problems from derailing their customer satisfaction. It's important to emphasise that this approach requires significant investment in terms of having a full-time expert developer running the project, with a beta team on hand to iron out any issues as they arise.

With more limited testing, it is fairly inevitable that somebody some place will have a system where the configuration of divergent elements simply doesn't add up to a satisfactory experience. For me... and presumably for the others who have added their farewells to this thread... I guess we are that minority.

Our loss should not be your loss though!! You have stated that on your system everything is working well, and I'm pleased for you, as I'm sure everyone here is. Tracktion is a superb sequencer, and I highly recommend that if it is working well on your system you take the plunge and go for the upgrade. :)
