Well, i said "no problem" ! i'm agree with you ! To buy a dongle to work with a software is too much... Since you already bought a computer, a mouse, a keyboard, maybe 2 screens, an audio board, also converter, pre-amp, remote controller... after putting several thousand bucks in so much hardware, you cannot spend 50$ in a dongle ! :-)
You seem to asume a lot. I think you could have understand from my replies that it is NOT about the price for the dongle. I said I have MANY reasons for not wanting to use dongles. Many of those reasons have been discussed (also here on KVR) in length. It's clear that many people don't want to use dongles and most of them don't care a bit about the cost involved, that is just a minor thing.
I understand very well your arguments, that's why the next generation of USB Dongle will include mp3 reader with 5Gb memory, and maybe cellular phone and GPS feature... This small stuff could help you to spend 50$ in a dongle isn't it ? i will notify you when this will be available. thanks
It seems you don't take a possible future customer serious when he tells you he has a problem with dongles. Maybe I should stop taking you serious as a developer. It completely amazes me how devs like you are so completely ignorant of how your market thinks about these things. Too bad, and seriously YOUR loss (in revenue).

I started this discussion because I think your Striptool is a great plugin. Too bad that you couldn't keep this a bit more respectfull. I will no longer use your Free Striptool and have removed it from my computer completely. And yes, now it's MY loss too. Such comes the burdon of having principles.... you should try it

The striptool_V1 is free, you are not obliged to use it ! However, i thank you for using it during years and i'm sorry if you thought it was a great plug-in.

Thanks again

I now use it with twice as much pleasure as before - I mean, he worked hard for it but doesn't see a penny from me for this work - just what he deserves... :hihi:

Clever ! you understood everything. This is why this freeware has been done ! :-) note that if you also don't want to buy a dongle, i won't have any chance to get a penny. So anyway, with people like you, i've absolutely no chance to get a penny... but this is something i understood since the beginning of this so much usual discussion... that's why i did it with humour !

I even considered buying a dongle just because Striptool is so good that it makes me lust after V2/3 - even if I actually is outside my price range - I don't care that much about dongles (don't liuke having to pay additional 50€ though) - but what you call humour others might call insult! ;-)

Why not buy Arturias dongle, its only $9, and use that instead :hihi:

So you are actually saying this: If you start using the freeware version I (being Vincent Burel) don't think you are a serious user and I think you won't buy anything from me anyway, so I can safely treat you badly when you ask me something.

This is the strangest business-model I've ever come across.... and then you even call it... HUMOUR :nutter:

well, you said to me that you won't buy dongle. But all my product needs this dongle to work. So what to do ? I'm not a commercial guy, i'm not a vendor or bizness man who will convince you to buy something from me. I'm just an artisan. How i ve to consider people who use my freeware since years and explain me that they never pay for my product because a 50$ dongle !? with humour. isn't it :-)

it's not the fact he won't PAY for a dongle, simply not HAVE a dongle plugged into his puter, I don't think the price is even a problem.

crimsonwarlock wrote: Do you have plans to update the striptool series? Seeing that there are now so many hosts that lack good channel EQ and given the luxury to have a dedicated (low CPU) compressor on each channel I think many people (including me) would be interested in this ;)
Well, the actual striptool series is already a good and complete solution for begining a professional mix. The Striptool_V1 is here to introduce and show the concept, but the real stuff begins with striptool V2 and V3... By the way, in the future, i could make minor update to improve some details (someone asked me for a 48db/octave LPF-HPF, other for a small stereo delay or chorus in)... but acutally, nothing is really planned. Finally the Striptool Pack match 90% of the needs, and this was the goal of this product.
crimsonwarlock wrote: Are the original striptool versions still available for purchase ?
Yes sure ! The Striptool Pack (containing Striptool V2 and V3) is available since many years now. But was not really presented on my website... now it's pretty done here :
