the combs are the best I've ever seen in a synth.. Not just normal combs but dual, dissonant, cluster, etc. By automating different parameters, and by changing osc/comb tuning ratios, you can come up with some really awesome stuff!
One of my favorite things to try is to take a patch. Any patch. Now feed the patch through a comb filter, or perhaps two combs. Modulate the comb filter(s). The results aren't always useable but often they can be priceless!

This is an experimental setting in the latest public update - the controls don't do anything on itJeremy_NSL wrote:cluster
Cluster is one of those weird ideas that are not exactly what you'd expect from a comb filter. It builds up a cluster (yep!) of randomly looped waveform cycles, taken at random times from the input and played back randomly detuned & panned for a random duration. The controls will allow for, uhm, controlling the randomness of the random aspects. Kinda swarm thing. Not sure if anyone will ever use it in any kind of music, but it's one thing I always wanted to try.
The current implementation does flutter a bit too much for my taste. The final implementation will hopefully form a more consistent, uhm, cluster.
Oh, thanks for the praise everyone! - Gimme a couple of days...
... or sneak peak the arp & swing feature of the latest *internal* beta:

(Caution: Attacks are stronger/punchier & a bit clicky in this version. This can be turned on & off in the final)

Cool.... managed to get it before the link went away
Took me a few minutes to figure out how to enable the arp (duh), on the mode dropdown.
Very cool implementation and I love the arp mod sources too.
Yay! Channel mixes now work all the time!
Did notice some weird things going on with a user LFO set to free when using the arp. Never seemed to progress beyond the first couple of steps. If you need more info, I can try to be a little more clear.

Yeah. I have to implement single trigger modes for LFOs and MSEGs to fully meet the Arp stuff.gbles wrote:Did notice some weird things going on with a user LFO set to free when using the arp. I also think of single triggers for the normal envelopes, but that's a bit tricky because they provide the logic for any note length. They simply *have* to be released on a NoteOff event, which would not serve the desired result in Arp mode. So it might be better to leave them as they are and propagate the MultiStages for evolving modulations across multiple notes.

I think Zebra is fantastic!!! It has a very strong dynamic and bright timbre - Up there with the Virus B and JP8000!! Even more than Tera which was my fave until I discovered Zebra. I want to buy it but it wont let me pay by switch with my hotmail account- bummer!!!
Hackintosh, Ableton, Various plugins inc Repro, Zebra, Tal bassline 101, Xpand, Serum. Mackie onyx audio interface, Presonus Eris e5, Samson Sr850/Yamaha RH5ma headphones, Novation nocturn, Korg nano control 2, Maudio keystation 49, AKAI APC25.

Hey Urs.
I'm a bit puzzled here.. have you sent out emails with info on new preview-versions since the 310106-version? You missed me the last time when sending out emails, so worst fears here
Cheers,
- Torben.

Thanks Beej. No panic here though - a bit stressed out from working too hard, but no panic
the announcement of the 140306-version above just made me a tad nervous. No worries though - still love the Z2 I've got!
