Arksun: I like RSS too. Unfortunately there is absolutely nothing similar in software.

you just need a device with crosstalk. Does it have to be a plug in? Why not just use Waves? Or create your own Ms decoding or something. Widening plug ins? Not sure what you want. What are you trying to achieve? Explain your project and or post files. Name your budget as well. Don't you have technical director to decide this?

Crosstalk doesn't allow you to position a sound source in front, inside, behind, above or below your head, and M/S tricks are far from optimal in many ways.

Don't think anyone has mentioned this before:

Crosstalk cancellation included, room acoustics etc for Headphones and Loudspeakers.
Different levels of software for what you want it to do.

I did try try this over a year ago when it was pretty new but it did have some graphics issues which I'm sure they would have cured by now. Kinda fallen out of making music now, hence have not tried it recently.

P.S. Just watch, if you decide to try it, that it will record an output wavefile and is available as a VST plugin because the lesser versions do not necessarily do this...

Didn't know these thanks, they are quite comprehensive feature-wise... I've tried the Enhancer ST which comes in VST format and it sounds quite nice to my ears, but cpu use goes through the roof and indeed graphics are a bit slow and cluncky.

And there's also the old SpinAudio 3D stuff which also looks nice but unfortunately it's not available anymore... does anyone have any experience with these (3d Panner Studio, 3d Panner Motion Effects...)? Are/were they any good? I still have their M1 reverb and still sounds great to me...

Is that what a technical director does? "Yesterday, i explained the difference between left and right. Today i'll explain the words horizontal and vertical." Sounds like a job for me.

I've been waiting for a VST version of Roland RSS as well. I tried one of the multieffects boxes back in its day and it did what is being asked. There was one patch in particular where the pad sound from my synth was spread between the speakers and the light chorousy effect swirled up to the ceiling. I called my wife and daughter in and they heard it the same way too.

I have tried to get Christian's hrtf to work on 4 systems now and have never managed to. Is there something obvious I'm missing?
