comments?
Well my initial thought was the sound hadn't been encoded properly until the chaos setting was reduced <grin>

Another nice demo that got better the longer it went on.

2 things I did notice whilst watching the clip were the snare decay setting seems huge and the pads only light up on the left-hand side.

The new beta still responds to automation as previously posted.

CPMute = Cricket knob instead of On button, CPChaos = CPMute (On button), CPChance is CPChaos, CPMix is CPChance, CPSync is CPMix, CPPCM Tuning is CPSync, CPKeytrack is CPPCMTuning, Cricket is CPKeytrack

Found the video tutorial to be useful. Was expecting a voice to help describe what was going on.

oops, I forgot that, <grin>

Something else -

xyzXYZ.zip unzips as xyz. Within this folder is another folder, BDM. All good so far. Now, within BDM is a skin folder and a skin.rar, does one substitute for the other?
Display notenames on GUI by About Box
Ummm, the about box? How am I not seeing the about box.

Post

skin.rar is the old skin, no needs to use that, <grin>

with the new skin you have the keymap button on the left, no?

Got it, just below Master Chaos. Thanks!

liked the video, however- it does point out the huge decay on the snare VCO as azrael mentioned earlier...

REALLY am digging the new beta! only had a few mins to fool with it in the last 24hrs...new sounds are kewl! still not sure: is the master chaos slider functioning? the chance and reverse controls seems to be connected to the pitch in a really cool way, but it doesn't seem like it's reversing the sound?

though I made this with the former 0.3 beta, HERE is a link to what is moreless a BDM demo (I did use Ohmicide on the BDM... seems like a marriage of passion to me :hihi: ) anyHOOO....

hope to have more time to crank out some more presets with the new setup in the new beta :tu:

I thought that was also part of the "brokeness".

Anyway, I am playing around with video software, and did another one:

http://pingaudio.org/broken-drum-machine-beta-03/

when BDM is released, I will make a video tutorial of all features in isolation.

Maybe, but surely it shouldn't be broken all the time? <shrug>

@blortbort - cool tune, more frazzled gameboy than melted saxophone to my ears tho.

@pw - another cool video :tu: This is what I imagined BDM to sound like when it was first announced, a beatbox on the verge of a nervous breakdown.

heh...have to admit I don't have any gameboy experience, but I'll concede that it probably *does* sound a little more like a Weather Report tune on crack than anything that Ornette Coleman ever did

The pics on your site are gorgeous, "Reggio Emilia, located in the Enza Valley of Italy" seems quite beautiful.

Thanks, ya'll, for the videos. They are so helpful. They, as well as blortblort's latest demo, also show that BDM is not "just" for broken drum machine sounds.

Post

Thanks bobsled, yes the valley is beautiful, the city not so much, <wink>

SD Decay,

so what you want me to do there??!! <grin>

In the latest beta, CCs 44 thru 51 behave as expected. Bug squashed.

btw the dials lighting red toward full on is very sexy.
