Limiter no6 is a wonderful beast and, unlike, say, L2 or Pro-L, actually has several separate modules that can be used together or individually for limiting/compression duties, including clipping, which is another way of achieving greater perceived loudness (by using distortion to cut off peaks), but not always part of a limiter/maximizer (limiting originally existed to prevent clipping!)excuse me please wrote: Sun Sep 13, 2020 4:17 am I have Limiter no.6, but don't ask me how it works. To me it seems more like a volume knob, which works better on good mixes than on bad mixes.
So yeah, I'd say it's a very complex volume knob(s), with clipping, M/S, and multiband processing.
