Here is a video demo of the OS3 from NAMM:

Yes, not just for trance, but I can't help but be reminded of some pretty good parties in Goa, listening to the TI...

Very strange they did not put in USB 2.0 High speed=480 Mbit/s, only 12 Mbit/s???

I dont think that any Virus TI can play more than five tracks without crackle, and I think it has to do with USB 1.1?

They should have put in Firewire or USB 2.0, sampling option and 50-100% more power, then they could call it Virus TI2.

Nice look anyway! I hope for a new lower price.

Hello,

today i installed OS 3.0 public beta on my Virus TI Desktop. No problems with Windows Vista Home Premium SP1. The new Virus Control plugin is running rock solid with Ableton Live 7.0.14. :)

All ROM banks of the new TI2 are included as mid-files. The new patches can be used with the "normal" TI. Some OS 3.0 demo patches are also included.

been tinkering and hanging around about spending money on a TI, finally I done it and BONUS, nice beta update installed within 2 hours out of the box.

Works like a charm and new patches are dirty if you like your D&B or where ever else you like to plug those Dirty Low Sounds :)

Got so much to learn and so little time...

Loving it to bits.

Would like to know it the spdifs can be used as a send/return for a channel in cubase to my TC Triple C compressor for the Virus or any other audio tracks recorded.

Peace
If you can't find the vibe does it exist.

Anyone able to give that a try?

I was planning on getting one in the next few months but now I'm not sure whether to snap one of the original TI's up right now as the new versions are an extra £500. Are the TI2s's actually capable of anything new or just more powerful because I can live without the power for £500?

I have to agree. Changing the looks slightly and dropping in a new DSP to make it 25% more powerful makes no sense to me if you can't use more than 3 outputs and 1 input via USB. If they would have chosen USB 2.0 each part could have had its own individual output via USB which would have made the TI2 a must have imho. At this point I am perfectly happy with my TI Polar and OS3. I was really disappointed to see that it still had USB 1.1 in it. :(

So with the TI you can only have one stereo channel coming through the USB?

How many parts can you usually get, i.e is it powerful enough to get pads, lead and bass at the same time and would this have to come through the usb and two outputs? Obviously I understand it will depend on the patch but in general can you get at least three decent patches out of it?

I can even get that much out of the TI Snow, which has only half the DSP power of the full TI (mk1) range. So, I guess the answer is a definite yes on that one.

It depends greatly on the complexity of the patch. You could get away with a complex pad, nice lead and bass. However, I've worked with some pretty hardcore (probably inefficient with effects, unison and release time) patches that get drop-out from just playing chords on that part alone. It's obviously an incredibly powerful synth with its dual DSPs, but if you do some beyond fat sounds you can tax it.

I was looking at the Virus TI Polar yesterday on Zzounds. They have one left: http://www.zzounds.com/item--ACCVIRUSTIPOLAR

But, yeah, there's a new version. I've also been checking out the videos on the Access site. In addition to new effects, it seems the housing of the Polar has been redesigned that reduces its weight.

[edit] Whoops! Guess I'm really late to this discussion. Never mind...

You can get 3 stereo/6 mono thru the usb. On the TI's (not sure about the snow) there are also 3 stereo/6 mono analog outs.

Hey,

I'm wondering if anyone could try this out in Logic 8 and let me know if it crashes for them. I couldn't find anything on the Virus forums. Thanks.

I love my Snow, I love designing on it but its pretty complex .. . I often have trouble getting the sound I want out of it, as opposed to Sylenth or Z3ta

im pretty stoked on these DNB type patches tho

sorry, aplats... I'm not a Logic or Mac user, so i cannot help you there.
This sounds like something you might ought to submit a support ticket for with the folks at Access to see if they have any suggestions. That would at least keep it on their radar if this is a bug for other users who might not have posted to any of the other Virus forums...
