Oooooh I smell a back-story here. Is this one of those SFZ -> Dimension or Loopazoid -> Battery type stories? Did the guy who made Crystal go on to make Omnisphere then?aMUSEd wrote:Instead it evolved into the ultimate payware softsynth - Omnispherekilon wrote:Actually Crystal, I am surpised because its a very close competitor to Absynth. Too bad , its author no longer updates it , cause this synth could easily evolve to the ultimate freeware synth.

GlennO is working for Spectrasonics now in some capacity. He'll always be a hero to me - there was just nothing like it when it came out. I loved it more than synths I bought.audiojunkie wrote:Oooooh I smell a back-story here. Is this one of those SFZ -> Dimension or Loopazoid -> Battery type stories? I also loved the T2, Synth1 and my beloved Cheese Machine.

Cool. I really like how KVR has been the breeding ground for the extra-talented who got to go on to much better things.declan32001 wrote:GlennO is working for Spectrasonics now in some capacity. Is there an info where to get it and how to set it up ?
As opposed to the instructions there, I recommend installing mGui OUTSIDE your VST folder.

Yes - if you compare Omnisphere to Crystal you can see clearly they have a lot in common. It's like a fusion of the sample set of Atmosphere (plus the new library) with the underlying engine and structure of Crystal (but highly extended).audiojunkie wrote:Did the guy who made Crystal go on to make Omnisphere then?aMUSEd wrote:Instead it evolved into the ultimate payware softsynth - Omnispherekilon wrote:Actually Crystal, I am surpised because its a very close competitor to Absynth. I agree. Ten years ago you would pay approx. 1500 euro for a hardware Proteus 2000 and now it's free. The same presets, the same sound. And for 35-50 euro you can buy more legendary E-mu sound modules to use with this softsynth.waveriderarts wrote:EMU Proteus VX!!!
Another one: the TAL U-No 62 the best emulation of the Roland Juno 60 around. Emulations of this quality usually cost more than 100 euro.
