New beta build is online, which contains a workaround bugfix for energyXT.Moe Shinola wrote:Hey, thanks for putting this synth out! It looks cool, lots of potential. I just got what I'm assuming is the newest build and trying it out in Energy XT 2.5, but getting the same problem as before, namely that presets will load, but there's no sound. The .fxb bank won't load from the synth GUI, I have to use XT's loader, then the synth changes color to sort of copper and I can change presets, but no sound. Then I tried the multi-out version and got a "getbuffer failed" error, and there was no audio or MIDI and I had to reboot my laptop. I'm looking forward to good times soon playing this synth, and thanks again.
BR808 released!

This looks interesting. Any presets in the works?

I meant switching presets within a bank inside the synth using the back and forward buttons.bero wrote:What do you mean with switiching? Loading a preset from a FXP file? Loading a bank from a FXB file? Change the program patch number of a MIDI channel? etc.?V'ger wrote:Switching between presets causes the synth to stutter and can take several seconds to do, and the preset number to channel is very unusual and not ideal.
An option like that would not be necessary with a nice big browser window. And honestly, a browser is imho really a big key to VSTs becoming likeable or not, especially multitimbral synths like yours where the host like Reaper will not automatically put the patches of a bank in a nice list which you can scroll with a mouse wheel or open to see pages of.bero wrote:Maybe together with a optional "set immediately"-checkbox, so that the from-you-wished feature is optional?V'ger wrote:Imo it should be the other way around: Choose a channel and set preset to that, but not set with a button click like now, just automatically loaded as you browse. Preferably from a big preset browser or list window. But still with the option to cycle through the list with arrows.
Wow nice, thanksbero wrote:New beta build is online, with a second VSTi plugin variant called BR808MultiOutput.dll with 17 stereo output channels (with 1 master sum stereo + 16 stereo midi channels) !
Only trouble is that with this multi-output version the crackling is back..

Doh! Should have looked there first.bero wrote:See DamnColdWinter.fxb in the ZIPA.M. Gold wrote:This looks interesting. Any presets in the works?I'll make more presets in the next time.
Thanks, I'll check it out!

New beta build is online. Changes:
- * Standard controllers (volume, balance, panninh, expression. and so on) are now 14-bit. But the controller modulation matrix stuff is still 7-bit. If a controller item in the modulation matrix overrides a MSB coarse controller in the 0-31 range, then the corresponding LSB fine controller in the 32-63 range will be ignored. And if a controller item in the modulation matrix overrides a LSB fine controller in the 32-63 range, then the corresponding MSB coarse controller in the 0-31 range will be NOT ignored, but the LSB fine value of this one controller will be then ignored or better said set to zero.
* RPN controllers are processed now (pitchbend coarsedepth/finedepth and so on)
* NRPN controllers are processed now also, but only for the modulation matrix, to have automations with 14-bit resolution!!!
* SysEx messages are processed now
* MIDI tuning standard is supported now, for example for to use in microtonal
music, just intonation, meantone temperament, or other alternative tunings.
* Standard MIDI controllers should be working more now, like it stands in the MIDI standard, incl. poly&omni mode, pedals, allsoundsoff, allnotesoff and so on.
* Tried to optimizing the modulation matrix stuff (because it is multi-workbuffer-stackmachine-based, so it can be maybe a memory i/o bottleneck and can maybe trigger CPU cache misses, what depends on your CPU)
* Some small bugfixes

Thanks you, bero, for a nice synth!
I have some questions about features.
How to turn on glide? I've tried to place the glide fader on about 1 sec, but there is no effect.
What are Carry, PM/FM Extmode, Centerise, Active Check ticks? What are Phase/Frequency Mul Modulation modes?
Thanks again.
ps: Excuse me for my English.

Carry means "No reset of the current to edited component (ADSR,Env,LFO,etc.) for a new note with the same instrument"mnq0 wrote:Thanks you, bero, for a nice synth!

PM/FM Extmode mans "PhaseModulation/FrequencyModulatio extended mode"
Centerise means "0..1 of the component output (ADSR,Env,LFO,etc.) will be scaled to -1..1"
Active Check means "if all the selected components with activated >ActiveCheck< are done (for example ADSR/Env is at the end), the voice can be killed then, to save CPU time"

Amazing machine, works fine in Jeskola Buzz tracker, microtuning are available via midi, but how we access to alternative tunings?
edit
ok,midi messages, why not a compatibility with scala presets, or a tuner for each 12 semitones, it will be easiest.

BR808 works in FL Studio 10. I've tested it myself now some minutes ago with the FL Studio 10 Demotrial.robindrieghe wrote:looks interesting, hope there will be a version i can open in FlStudio soon.

I've just implemented http://www.midi.org/techspecs/midituning.php / http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MIDI_Tuning_Standard. So the MIDITuningStandardStuff is SysEx controlled.tinga wrote:Amazing machine, works fine in Jeskola Buzz tracker, microtuning are available via midi, but how we access to alternative tunings?

Have you a link to the specifications for the scala presets? Because the scala original website seems to be offline for me.

With Buzz and Polac vst loader, program change doesn't work properly, we have to click manualy the box "set to channel" to have the sound change (on the same midi channel).
