when i look thru presets, a note will stick often. i can easily dismiss it by hitting 'bypass' on the plugin.
confirmed in reaper, but i have to unload the plugin.

Did you try the method posted below?
It doesn't work for you?
When it happens, there's a quick fix.
Just change the Voice Mode setting (under the Global menu-left side) from either legato, poly, duo, or retrigger, arpeggiator, to something else.
Then change it back to the original setting.
The note sticking will stop.

Thanks for the advice about sticking notes.

Worked a dream and loving Zebra 2. Amazed how quickly the license transfer came through too.

Just thought i'd let you know that I'm getting the sticking note issue as well.

I'm using Cubase 4.5.2 on W7 64 and I do have an M-Audio Oxygen controller. I don't get the sticking note issue with any other plugin however.

It seems to only happen when changed presets, and I suspect more often when I'm holding a note during a preset change. I also noticed with a couple of short sustain presets that I get the attack phase of the note with note on and note off.

Changing voice amount solves it so it's not really a big deal.

Yes,

Back when we beta tested Zebra 2.5.1/2 publicly, people preferred to have loud artifacts removed when presets were changed while notes were playing. The workaround was tricky, and it involved muting all notes during the time a preset is loaded, and restarting them right after the preset has switched over. Due to threading issues - and no matter what we did within short time - sometimes note hangers occurred. This was seen as the lesser evil as compared to the loud clicks and pops we had before.

In the meantime we have rewritten the MIDI queue to be thread safe under all circumstances (we hope), and we're about to also add thread safe patch changes some time later this year. (It took a while because we had to get it to work with multithreading *inside* the plugin, if you haven't been following Diva news...)

So, at some point we hope to get rid of all note hangers related to preset changes.

OTOH if someone has a reproducible case where a hanging note is not related to a preset change, preferredly with a demo project in about any host, then we're all up to look into it quickly.

Cheers,

;) Urs

If it helps to know, you aren't the only one.
I had an Oxygen8 too, and it frequently had stuck notes with Zebra, but some others as well. I bought a M-Audio Axiom and have yet to have any stuck notes, except once during the Zebra2.5 beta, but it was fixed, then never any problems after that. The Oxygen doesn't have aftertouch either. My upgrading to a better controller was worth the extra cash for me. Not to mention the action is better.

We also had a funny moment with one of our vintage synthesizers. Whenever one lifted the last note on the keyboard, it would send an All Notes Off instead of a simple NoteOff. So we figure that whatever went wrong in the older M-Audio keyboards and us (which was a combination notorious for note hangers), was probably related to some similar oddity.

Maybe someone with an Oxygene or so could send us a MIDI dump, made e.g. with MIDI Monitor (for Mac)?

(I mean, play a bit until Zebra hangs, and send us what's in the monitor log)

I can also confirm hanging notes in Renoise when changing presets while holding a midi note. I just learned to not hold a midi note while changing presets, it's an automatism now :)

But if it's fixable in future updates, I won't say no to that :)

Also getting hanging notes using Zebra when changing presets, in Reaper 4 AU and VST or any other daw Logic, Pro Tools.

More annoying in Reaper, because it doesn't help pressing bypass button there.

Pressing F3+fn works.
