Does this mean you can control several apps with Lemur at the same time, within the same interface/template?mbncp wrote:I don't think this is necessary as I can access animoog, alchemy,.. directly as long as they expose their midi inputs.hogo wrote:You should have no problems doing this with the MidiBridge app. Rudess uses it to let geo control sampletank.six one cynic wrote:Can this be used to control other iOS apps?
You can assign and connect directly up to 10 midi ports, which can be internal or external (wifi, usb,..).
Once I'm done with my gear/plugs/host routing/managing I'll probably work on a home made "keyboard" for animoog as there is some interesting potential there.
Edit:
Given the potential of Lemur for ios, especially with the scripting, this app kills most of all other midi only apps, except maybe a few very specific ones, and even then... . I don't have midibridge but I'm pretty sure that you can do all what it does and much much more.
When I think that I just bought a mac book air and starting diving into iOS coding just to be able to create my own midi tools![]()

Yes, but first it's not 10 but 8 ports, my bad.Insaniac wrote: Does this mean you can control several apps with Lemur at the same time, within the same interface/template?
When you draw a control you can set it's midi out to any of these 8 ports + parent port or project ports. The two later makes it easier to change a bunch of controls in one go.
Then it's in the iOS app that you define what is each port, so you can have port 0 to usb midi, port 1 to wifi, port 2 to animoog, port 3 to alchemy and so on (you can set each in and out ports independently).
But it gets even more interesting with some scripting as you can then assign the ports dynamically, so a single control can switch to a different port or even send the midi to a few selected ports(layers).

As soon as it drops in price.

silly question alert. Can you use all the MAC apps to control a daw or whatever on pc? just checking. do you need a mac to use ipad stuff like this?

Yep - right now I'm playing Kinesis on my PC using Lemur to control some XYs with bouncy balls!memyselfandus wrote:silly question alert. Can you use all the MAC apps to control a daw or whatever on pc? just checking. do you need a mac to use ipad stuff like this?

If you got anything touch controlled with Windows, you can try Sensomusic Usine.
This is the only credible alternative to Lemur/iPad for now :
scripting, physical controls (like bouncing balls
), MIDI/OSC, a real DAW, custom interface, nearly all automatable (even the interface look itself), multitouch, audio treatment (like Bidule/MaxMSP)...and more.
Of course, with the iPad factor...it is hard to promote tablet PCs
But for ppl with already anything Win/touch control , it is a good option.

For some reason the connection over ad hoc wifi seems to keep dropping out - only does it with the Lemur app (not TouchOsc for example). I'm using rtpmidi for the core midi connection.

As I understood it Lemur doesn't use Core MIDI over wifi, only hardwired, so rtpMIDI won't work, for Wifi it's via their daemon app and a MIDI loopback driver like LoopMIDI. That's what I use.aMUSEd wrote:For some reason the connection over ad hoc wifi seems to keep dropping out - only does it with the Lemur app (not TouchOsc for example). Yeah I figured it out eventually thanks (I just hate reading manualsolja wrote:As I understood it Lemur doesn't use Core MIDI over wifi, only hardwired, so rtpMIDI won't work, for Wifi it's via their daemon app and a MIDI loopback driver like LoopMIDI. Bit annoying I'm having to have several apps running now to hook my iPad up to my PC - I wish there was a hardwired way to deal with them all - the ones that use OSC, midi and things like the Alchemy and Omnisphere app that do their own thing. I was playing with the idea of getting the iRig midi thing but then realised it still wouldn't make a difference for the OSC etc stuff - I still need to have wifi on which I would rather not do on a DAW

OK, this is pretty goddamned cool. Just more or less finished my first template...

Have to finish mapping it to some Reaktor controls then I'll upload the template. Coolest thing is how you can make controls interact, and do math functions to scale and manipulate things.
You really have to read that manual though. I still haven't figured out all the scripting options.

I mainly made an interface that lets me assign any of my 5 "keyboard/controller" to any of 8 vst and or hardware synths.
It needed some scripting as it's a single switch control and each row can either work in radio mode (single selection) or normal (for layering). Then a few sliders connected directly to live. My 88 keyboard can split in 2 but I can't really change octave so I used these two multi switch (top left) to change octave (-2 - +2). The long slider just sends patch change to MicroTonic.
There is still some work but it's already really cool. By using variables and scripting it's easy to make a change.
The idea is to use a second iPad to create specific pages for all these synth with an option, so when I play a note to any of these synth that it shows automatically the correct page.
Anyway if you need some code to make an ugly grid, just ask

Here's what's coming Reaktor-wise from Antonio Blanca.
Yes, but they will be available soon, I just did many templates for legacy lemur, however I am reworking every template on Reaktor and Lemur programming, the list of templates that I going to release is:
- Lazyfish's SKrewell
- JWH's L3
- Spacedrone MOD (A mod I did from Martin's Spacedrone)
- Daliot's Lurker
- Brinkmann Grainstates
- Exile's Vectory
- Lazayfish's Newschool including the Life sequencer (16x16);
http://www.antonioblanca.com/lemurized-newscool
- Rachmiel's | Devine Graincube
Once I have them ready , I will start working on MF and other own tools I have, I have a good prototype already for MF, however there are many controls on it, so making a template for it with a good navigation is a bit of work, in case I will post my progresses in my website.
The bad news, we couldn't to use these templates with any DAWthey works under OSC, and it works in stand alone mode only.

Cool. Was this easy to do? Did you have to delve into any of the scripting stuff? I'm wanting to buy this now. I was blown away by Peff's video on YouTube.~Pd~ wrote:OK, this is pretty goddamned cool. Just more or less finished my first template...

Thread title says 'for iPad' but according to the store its supposed to run on the iPhone and Touch as well.
Anyone tried this on a non-iPad device? How useable is it?
