Will we die when Zebra3 will come out ?

We've been brainstorming again and I think we'll soon start to develop some essential bits for Zebra from the ground up.

We're toying with the idea of separating Voice Control, Arp and Sequencer, but letting the sequencer control the Arp if necessary. This would simplify a lot for us and the user while no functionality really would be lost. In fact, most sequencing would be as easy as programming an SH-101 or a TB, but with choice of polyphonic play, mono, "singing envelopes" etc. And of course, this time we'll have sequencer presets ;)

We've also figured out how to unify the editors for Osc waves, custom LFO shapes, MSEGs and ModMappers. If this works out anything like we think, you'll be stunned!

Later,

;) Urs

Ah, good to know... ;)
So that means we need a faithful BBD thing? Boss-like voices with 60-degrees offset?
Any input welcome :)
Very good assessment, Sascha! ;)

That alone sounds awesome! :D I love Zebra and I'm looking forward to where it goes in the future. :)

I must say I'm really anxious to see the new Zebra GUI Urs will come up with.

No idea yet... the general layout/workflow won't change though :)

That's fine. Just something that would resize better would be nice. :D

Oh, and remembering the last selected skin and resolution across all u-he products would be extremely nice (and actually, EXPECTED to happen)...

*is hoping the wave editor harmonic grid and snapping option is included in the next update*

I'm always making wavetables because I love discovering new sounds based on ideas from my head (Zebra is amazing for this!), but current editing methods often leave me with a sore hand

Indeed, I'd love a true additive harmonic mode (where incremental harmonics are not 1/n in amplitude). :)

I kind of noticed that desire :)

Got some ideas there. Certainly less painful.

Btw remembering you Urs, having some distortion algorithms and "show connections" function in planning. Still actual? :)

But of course!

The connections thing doesn't have the highest priority assigned to it, but distortion is a big topic for Sascha.

Aaaah! Nice! :) This sounds like pretty epic future for already epic synth. Can't wait! :)

Yeah... we're keen on getting our hands dirty on this one!

(but we might have the odd little surprise on the way... things might fall into place nicely...)
