Sorry, but it IS counter intuitive, as there is a side chain option in the C1 Comp-Gate plugin. Yes, the C1 does have external side-chain, but Waves own website says "ProTools only" when it mentions external side chain. See http://www.waves.com/plugins/c1-compressorTheoM wrote:It's not counter intuitive, it means that that's the model where wave provides it's own internal side chain

It depends on which version you choose though. Since the nomenclature of the plugins contains what function each plugin contains, you wouldn't know that the "C1 Comp-SC" lacks external side chain and that the "C1 Comp-Gate" contains internal side chain while it lacks external side chain.TheoM wrote:Doesn't matter what they say, that's outdated, the C1 has external sidechain in Cubase and Logic.
"C1 Comp" and "C1 Gate" are the only C1 plugins that contain external side chain inputs.

Even now C1 is an extremely versatile and useful compressor. It doesn't get mentioned very often these days perhaps due to its lack of vintage analog heritage, but I still think it's excellent.

You left off a bunch of waves' compressors. I can't think of anything other than that.Aiynzahev wrote:Softube - Dynamite, FET, TLA, CL1B
Waves - H-comp, RenComp, API 2500
Elysia - Mpressor
Stein/Yamaha - Portico & Vintage
Fabfilter - Pro-C
Klanghelm - DC8C
DMG Audio - Compassion
Team DNR - MixControlPro
Melda - MDynamics
Izotope - Alloy 2
Can you think of anymore?
