Good suggestion, thanks. Though it won't make it in the forthcoming release anymore, but in some future update.

Thought I found it when setting Polyphony to 1, but that is not so. Actually in that case I could play two notes at the same time :D
Retriggered mono mode can be achieved by inserting a "Monophonic Note Tracker" (in the Event Processors group) before the PolySynth module, or before a VSTi etc.

Ah, OK. But frankly, I think MuSynth (is that the same as PolySynth?) is for those Mulab users who do not like the modular approach, basically a complete regular synth plugin bundled with Mulab :D Why not give it a simple retrigger switch like any old Synthedit synth has it? There is still some space in the Setup box ;) Actually, a Retrigger switch could work not only in monophonic mode, but also in polyphonic mode.

Polysynth is inside MUX and allows polyphonic synthesis... Every Instrument of MuLab internals is based on the Polysynth inside MUX...

A seperate Module is by far more flexible as it can be placed in different sections of the signalflow and if I understood right, it can be used for VSTi's as well...

Well, I never really understood the synth hierarchy within Mulab...
Never mind, I hardly ever use it, anyway.

If I am not into the modular stuff and don't want to use a third-party synth, I can open MuSynth from the Devices category and I don't have anything to do with modular. That is why I said it should have a retrigger switch on the GUI. People who only use the upper level don't want to mess with event and tracker modules and what not just in order to get such a primitive feature.

I personally don't care if there is such a switch, as I don't really use MuSynth, PolySynth or whatever it is called, nor do I have to sell licenses...

Indeed!

Don't forget that MuSynth does support mono mode, legato mono mode that is, which is the most important one, as retriggered mono mode can be played/programmed anyway by releasing notes and retriggering other notes as you want. So it's not that essential as the real legato mono mode, i think.

And when your host is a little bit flexible (else have a look at MuLab) then you can insert a MUX before MuSynth and add a Monophonic Key Tracker there, which will give you retriggered mono mode too.

Anyway, i know MuSynth is not 'perfect', that's also not my intention. It's a basic yet powerful synth that can already deliver a wide range of top quality sounds. And with M5.2 it looks much better too!

When buying a MUX Vst user key you get all that and the MuDrum and the MuVerb and MultiSampla and the complete modular system (which you can ignore) for only 49 euro!! Crazy market situation. It's good for you musicians though 8)

MuLab 5.2.16 has finally been released and is available on http://www.mutools.com/mulab-downloads.html

What's new since the last MuLab 5.2.15:
  • Sequence Player module: The sequence selector edit button was misaligned. Fixed.
  • Fixed some crash bugs in case dropping things on the composer while no composition is selected i.e. when composer shows "No Composition".
  • Finetuned graphics of MuDrum, MuSampla, and several other places.
  • Improved MUX preset library.
Due to the changes in the graphics and library, recommended installation/update is cfr http://www.mutools.com/info/docs/mulab/ ... ation.html

Cheers!

Does this need a new key?

Post

No. You can still use your same MuLab 5 user key. So it's a free update ;)
