Indeed. It was the first Group Buy that leaked from Logic User Group into public forums - it started that whole group buy mania. It was massive for me at the time, even though only about half of the subscribed people ended up buying. Yet I also faced the reaction of tens of people who only bought Zebra because it was on special, not because they really wanted it. Here's my conclusion:

People who buy things they don't need during a sale have an elevated risk of turning out to be nightmare customers.

Not doing group buys or similar sales anymore is a form of self defense and applied anger management

I understand. Low prices attract people who don't really need a product.

So, if people could buy Diva for the same price as ACE €69 they would turn into a nightmare. Making it that ACE customers are a nightmare. So it's in self defence that the price for ACE today will be set to €179.

All the u-he fanboys are gonna chime in soon and say how the prices are already fair enough. I have to agree, however, I would be much more prone to purchase both synths if there was a sale. I feel the prices are just a tad bit steep as I'm not rich and it'd be nice if there was a sale to let us broke folks have a chance to buy!

Since one have to pay VAT it's fair to request something in return for the money. An EU x-mas special. Let the euro exchange rate sink as a stone... lol

Personally I have a huge, massive amount of AU's that I bought on sale, group buy, or that completed my collection of a developer I like.

Ohm Force, NI, AAS, Camel, Nomad Factory, I own every plug in by, mostly because of sales and deals on completing the package.

I've never been a bad customer of yours that I've known of. I donated presets to Zebra 1, and worked on the beta of Filterscape, plus I'm in the elite class of people who actually gave you $20 when MFM was donationware!

Though that's where my products of yours end, I've never been able to justify the other synths and the FX package because to complete my collection of your products would cost over $500. I've sold almost nothing I've bought software wise, because for me spending over $100 on anything is a big purchase. I'm on the low end of the financial scale unfortunately.

Just saying, count me as a customer who would be much more likely to buy if there was a package deal, sale or the like, and who wouldn't even sell them to other people, or bother you much.

Buy it via company who has a VAT number, it gets deducted.

As long as it's profitable for Uhe then all well & good but with more austerity cuts on their way in the UK I can only justify buying at reduced prices it's a sign of the times so as much as I would like to purchase a quality product from Uhe alas no sale prices means no can do! My 00.02 worth!

u-he seems to be doing great without sales, so why would they need one?
TBH, I'm seriously considering doing the same for my soundsets, though it's different as there is much less support involved.
That will surely mean fewer sales but I'd rather spend my time making more soundbanks than promoting discounts.

Doesn't that mean that you just need to wait a little longer and save some extra in the meantime. Same for everyone else in you position I guess, unless I'm missing something. I've been there myself way back then...

No! Even my Prophet 12 I got reduced! I get tempted by sales etc guess I'm a sucker for a perceived saving! I don't need any more synths fx etc but I will buy on impulse within a certain budget!

Man, reading the quoted thread above and this thread I think has made me want to buy zebra at it's source. I was initially scouring the web for a "used" legit copy of zebra because i couldn't see spending $200 then $100 for dark zebra but reading about the philosophy behind u-he I have a great respect for it and am happy to pay the full price for both. i do wish i had a dinosaur synth laying around though

I also wish I would've heard about u-he before i bought the komplete ultimate 9 crossgrade when it was %50 off :////////////////// because now i want to buy even more stuff.
