Do you envision sections overlapping or one last till you get another one (like the tempos work now)?

Post

Oh and it would be cool if you could drag temporary mastering filters onto the area, like we do with clips now... Am I the only one that needs more than 4 mastering filters from time to time?

I'm gonna cry... why? because this feature is non-existant! and it's such a good idea! c'mon jules! I know you are reading this!!!

It just doesn't seem to me that it would be that hard to implement the basic idea of this either.

You should be able to overlap sections, I think. The marker bar across the top of the section could be colour-coded, and semi-transparent.

ooo...this is some cool stuff.

I would like to see this idea expanded into live play. For me, I only use tracktion for recording, but would love the ability to build a sequence of patterns for a song and play them at will; so if I want to repeat a chorus or do some vamping, I just hit the number assigned to the pattern and keep playing... :)

...and record the results!

Just keep the queue full... and it should keep playing.

Jules? Have you read this? Perhaps Rock should send him a polite email?

Perhaps if they are able to overlap...

You should be able to drag both the marker's and tail points. Selecting the section itself would allow you to give it a name and set any other parameters Jules chooses to support.

I think it is important to keep in mind that recording would be disabled in this mode... If not you will have a giant bag of worms to deal with. You could add to the cue in a live situation and jam over the playing sections but not record. Or you could create a new edit or render an audio file bassed on a given sequence and then open that edit and record. However you could not have it both ways as far as I can see without a lot of work on Jules part. So far I think the ideas we have come up with have been very do-able.

Not that I would mind, but I think the best chance of seeing this become a reality is to keep this thread alive and hear from more people who might find this useful.
