Ha! Never mind my question about the change log. I see it is included in the zip. What are the performance and stability improvements?

I have changed a lot of general things in my codebase, such as denormal handling, buffer handling, removed a few bottlenecks, better and more efficient filters and so on. Lots of small changes and optimizations. Mostly the RTAS and VST3 versions benefit from these improvements. But also the plugins, that are using Oversampling, i. e. IVGI, DC8C and SDRR got a performance boost due to more efficient oversampling. I can't speak for all systems, but on my 2012 MBPr IVGI and SDRR show about 10% less CPU consumption and DC8C up to 30% less CPU-load with oversampling enabled.AusDisciple wrote:Ha! I think SDRR has just become my new goto drum modifier.
You can beef sounds up with it, or smooth them out, or even carve and tighten them like an eq, but with a kind of compression overall as well. And it's really easy to use. I haven't messed with it much till now with the update, but it is a pretty amazing bit of kit.
It's a lot of fun and very very nice to look at also.
It's a multi-fx unit really - saturation/distortion/eq/compressor. At least that's how I'm looking at it now. Very quick to sculpt the sound how you want. Can really make drums bite as well as boom.
I'm going to be using this a LOT in the future.

I intend to give SDRR and DC8C a good look in the coming weeks but at present, I've spent too much already on new things for my studio and my account is showing signs of being over stressed!!
Given your description above, I'm guessing I won't really notice anything different with the newest VUMT (over 1.9.1) in REAPER using the 32 bit VST2 version then?

VUMT has a lower memory footprint now and I have reduced the actual file size of the Win 32bit version. Before the update it was around 1 MB, now it's around 600kB. Also, it shows less CPU usage on some systems. But since VUMT wasn't a CPU hog before, the effect should be quite negligible:)

That was a fast reply Tony! Cheers again.
..and yeah, VUMT has been very light on resources here. Good to know the updates have improved that even further though.

SDRR is amazing on the drum bus. I love it.codec_spurt wrote:I think SDRR has just become my new goto drum modifier.
