This appears to me, to be a slack-handed, zero-budget, last-second rush job.penguinfromdeep wrote:I don't really understand why you think this video is so painful, can somebody enlighten me? I mean ok, he doesn't play much but he shows those features on the keyboard that are kind of new ... Maybe not for you but yeah I'm probably not the target audience either but I didn't find this so painful to watch? Tell meee
Coming from what I assume to be an industry leader. Presented by someone
who looks like he just fell out of bed, and rushed to work in a t-shirt.
I'd have preferred George Clooney, in a tuxedo, with a cigar
I'm sure he could master that skillz-free C scale feature
The main feature that sets kontrol -s apart as a midi device, the blinking lights,
will probably be the first part to physically fail, and the most problematic
for third-parties to support. Even NI's own individual instruments,
and the loyal customers who enjoy them, are locked out
A mandatory number of keyswitches also severely limit the playing range
on the 25/49/61 keybeds. Hopefully, 7 of the 8 switches can be turned off?
Why not just sell the kontrol -s software separately, for $50 or so,
to existing in-komplete instrument customers?
(To be fair, a voucher is included with the product, and I don't know
how generous it is.)
Cheers
