IMO it's double bad for small companies. If somebody uses a cracked copy of Cubase, he won't buy Tracktion. People who use cracked software often say: 'I can't afford to pay for it, it's too expensive.' But they could pay for the cheaper priced alternative, more often than not, coming from a smaller company.
