Thats it.
Urs wrote that Hive will work on small comps. Good for making music everywhere.
Berlin Modular needs Power. Good for at home.
Both will be one of the best in both worlds.
So i will buy a 8core 5ghz each 128 gb DDR4 ram maschine for Berlin Modular, when availiable.

I actually do own Zebra and Diva, so that was an easy choice. The other Synths, especially ACE and Bazille, are too nerdy for me. I am not a synth geek spending hours tweaking a patch. There, I said it. Am I now banned from KVR?

In my mind, Zebra already killed Sylenth. Hive is just going to kill a small part of Zebra, maybe it's a vengeance thing, I'm not sure yet.H.Ole Luft wrote:I hope the guy who kills Sylent is coming in jail!

How do you mean Zebra killed Sylenth1? Zebra and Sylenth1 are completely different instruments in most ways. They share very little in terms of design.Erkenfresh wrote:In my mind, Zebra already killed Sylenth. I have sylenth1 and looking forward to Hive so i can only pick one since the other u-he synths haven't moved me yet.
I bet that Sylenth1 and Hive will be good partners in my vst folder but only time will tell if Hive manages to keep my interest when it is released

In my eyes the whole KillerScene is a little bit childish.
Sylent is and Hive is intended working on small comps.
Push, a lightwight laptop, babyface and cable, this fits into a backpack, its under 6 kilo.
Whith this i can easily go by bus, train and underground to sessions. I dont produce or play in a band. A cpu hog isnt usefull for my kind of makin music.

Both good partners on Linux my wish!

Diva+Bazille for me.
Diva because it is easy to program, provides miles of nostalgia for me, and sounds huge and great. Takes me back to my days of lusting for a OB-Xa and Juno-60.
Bazille because I love nerdy signal processing. The interaction possible between oscillators delights me. Plus I've been playing with the beta since day 1-ish.
Some (you might say catastrophic) "life events" have made me poorer than I'd anticipated being at this point in my life. As such, I've not purchased any u-he products yet. That said, they are the only company whose products I don't own that I follow religiously. I have huge respect for u-he and plan to support them with my money when I can--I just don't know whether I'd purchase Diva or Bazille first
FWIW, I also love ACE. It's sound blows me away. I've never gotten into Zebra though--great at what it does, but doesn't strike my fancy.
Peace and love... Peace and love...

Zebra2 & Diva
*edit* had to switch this, because honestly i can't resist the sounds from diva. I would much rather have Diva than Bazille.

Easy choice for me, ACE and Bazille, since those are the only two that I own.
ACE in particular is hands down my favourite synth and the best money I ever spent, I can play with it for hours on end without getting bored, and the biological sounding croaks, growls and screams that it can produce make other VAs sound dull and lifeless by comparison.
I bought Bazille more recently, mainly because of how impressed I was with ACE. So far, it hasn't blown me away quite so much, compared to ACE its seems harsh and mechanical rather than liquid and organic. Still, I'm sure I haven't even begun to scratch the surface of what it is capable of, and further experimentation will no doubt be rewarded with a wealth of fascinating sounds.
I've considered buying Diva for it's rich analog sound, and Zebra because I like its comb filters, but both seem quite limited compared to the two I already have, so can't really justify the expense at the moment
From what I hear of Hive so far, it really doesn't interest me at all, but can't wait to find out more about Berlin Modular.

I was going to say the same thing. I've had Zebra2 for a while and updated to ZebraHZ yesterday after weighing up whether or not to put my $25 voucher towards ACE or ZebraHZ.EvilDragon wrote:Zebra HZ and Diva. Easy.
The decision was made after looking at what ZebraHZ offers over Zebra2 and then listening to the audio demos. I currently own licenses for Zebra2, ZebraHZ, Diva and Bazille and although ACE sounds great, I really felt ZebraHZ would give me much more flexibility and sound creation scope. Besides, Bazille covers everything I would purchase ACE for and much more at that.
OK, so on to my vote. Well, I really like the classic meal of fish (typically Flake, AKA shark in Australia) and chips so I voted for Chondrichthyes.
The reason? I could not vote for two u-he synths. After thinking about voting for ZebraHZ and Diva, I then decided Bazille is simply too good to leave out.
