Upgraded mux when it went pre-release. It's one of my favorite vsts to use in audiomulch. Easy to build things pretty fast.
How it looks doesn't count for me.

Mux is really awesome and keeps getting better. The looks are fine; clean and functional. The new wavetable is great.
For me, Mux is in the perfect zone of modular patching that doesn't get me in too deep. I can play around with building something but still focus on making music.

I understand the dilemma, but IMO it's better off hacked than leaving people think it doesn't work too good. Maybe rather do something funny with graphics, like modules running away from cursor... First generation worked for me all the time, so I don't feel I suffered, but it quite feels like a really dumb misunderstanding.mutools wrote:If such protection would give an explicit alert like "hey something seems to be wrong" then that's much more easy to hack (by hackers) than these short noise bursts.
+1 it looks great, I don't get the complaints here.cavegirl wrote:The looks are fine; clean and functional.

This is the video for the new wavetable oscillator:
I think Mutools should make better videos, with a voice explaining things, not just rushing through mouse clicks...

I've got to admit Mulabs has somewhat gone under my radar until now. I finally installed a demo. I think the UI is fine. I'd rather have a clear interface that is intuitive to use than a lot of flash that's just confusing. I always felt that Zebra suffered from this a bit. Those "knobs" never quite read as what they are. The next time someone posts a "just starting out trying to learn synthesis" thread, I'll happily recommend MUX. Cheap and easy to understand.
I'm not sure if I'll buy it though as... well I have a bunch of modulars and semi modulars and I just don't have the need for one... maybe the effects one might be nice.

Is it so that it can only function as ReWire Master, meaning one can ReWire "into it" but not "out of" it ?zerocrossing wrote:I've got to admit Mulabs has somewhat gone under my radar until now.

I got MUX 5 last year, dived into it for a month and then other projects and stuff came
up and left it alone until recently. This THING is one of the things that made me WOW
my self when i got it. Its one of those Synths that when you need something Fast and
Easy you go straight to. It can do pretty BAD things in the category of some of the real
HeavyWeights, it can pretty much do anything you throw at it. The looks don't really
matter to me but i like the look of MUX 5, its easier to understand and work with, it is
a lot cleaner then other stuff out there. I am working on some presets which will be
available for download for free from me or the Mux developer himself. I do not know
now if there is a Demo version for this but i urge people to check MUX out. I don't know
yet if i will upgrade to the latest version or if i can but MUX5 definetely is on my list of
every day used plugins now. It sounds great, same like all other synths, most of the time
is a lot easier to use and get something out of it. Kudos to Jo.

I was interested in trying it because it's a modular system and I like those, but I've switched to Mac. I lost Console in my switch too. It happens. But then Console is also abandonware.
Anyway, once a Mac version appears, I'll check it out.
What are the incompatibilities you keep running into while developing the Mac version? Why any more difficult than the DAW you've already got running on Mac OS?

Would you rather MUX 4 Live or MAX 4 Live ?
What can MAX do that MUX can't ?

Max does video for one. I recently bought Oscillot, and I am liking it more than Mux. Not to say that Mux is bad, though. Silencio is an old favorite of mine.
