Thanks!

I'm visually impaired. So I'm usually picky abotu GUIs. However I usually assing my gear to the MIDI controller.Lejurai wrote:Damn this is niceThough I have to complain about two thing.. Ahem.. Here it goes. The buttons are black. I can get them visible by turning screen so bright that it hurts my eyes so a bit unusable. Maybe gray buttons or nice led shiny blue? Heck.. Give me pink buttons but no black ones on black background please. Another thing really bugging me is the sequencer. I'd appreciate either noob mode or 303 style EASY sequencer that is EASY to program. And when I press a key to launch the sequence, I hear both, the key pressed and the random tune sequence -_-
But yea.. Will buy this anywayBut please Xils, consider some easy mode or optional style that could be selected in options menu?
And here I think XILS have done a great job. What I like in miniSyn'X and the other synths from XILS that I have is that's so easy to assing to the controller. A very nice thing is that the settings are saved. So there's no need to use templates.
There's a hotkey function in miniSyn'X that I like. In windows, press ALT+Win+Ctrl + click the feature you want to assing. Very nice
Click the "?" to see what what other hotkeys thee are.
Tip: Try the Smart Load feature. It's very addictive. I already need a rehab ...lol

According to post upstream in the thread:Robmobius wrote:How does it compare to it's bigger brother (which I have)?
So rather than a cut down version, it seems more like some kind of lateral creationLotuzia wrote:It has things the Syn'x/Synthix doesnt have though. And its own dedicated factory library.

Thanks for that mate... Seems like it's worth having in that case. I was hoping it would be at a reduced cost to owner of S'X but I didn't see any details on their website (or in the email I received).atukao wrote:Will Syn'X 2 be a charged or free update from Syn'X?Lotuzia wrote:No. However the MiniSyn'X presets will be 100% compatible with ..... the Syn'X 2
I'll buy it either way as it's a decent price.

Okay, I am REALLY torn over this one.
First off, let me say that I didn't demo the regular Syn'X because of the process you have to go through. It's not a simple download and install. You have to register first or something. So I don't have that to compare this to.
Anyway, it's a basic VA synth. But wow, what a big, fat sound. Please toss this into mono mode and make a bass patch. Almost blew me out of my seat.
There is no question that this thing sounds great. But let's be fair about this. It's a $49 synth because it's limited to what it can do. It's certainly no XILS 4 (which I have) or even Oxium (which I am demoing now also) but it's damn nice for what it does.
Question is, do I spend the $49 or do I download the Syn'X demo and see if, for $100 more, I actually get $100 more synth.
There is no question that on pure sound quality this thing is amazing. But it's a narrow synth. In fact, it kind of reminds me of the Minimoog, which we all know was one of the most popular and used synths of all time. And I know I'm probably going to regret NOT getting this but something in the back of my head keeps saying to me...
"You know you want this sound but with more flexibility."
So I'm gonna ask. And I know I'm gonna regret this.
Does the Syn'X basically give you this same big, fat sound but with more bells and whistles?
If somebody can honestly answer me yes, I just might go through the extra steps to download the demo and check it out for myself.
I told you I was going to regret this. LOL.

I dont know, but I remember that the Upgrade from Xils3 to Xils 4 ( That added so many new features and power, and so to speak a new synthesizer ) was only 49€, with intro price at 29 iirc, while the update from Xils 3 to Xils 3 V2.0 was free. So I'm not worried.atukao wrote:Will Syn'X 2 be a charged or free update from Syn'X?Lotuzia wrote:No. However the MiniSyn'X presets will be 100% compatible with ..... the Syn'X 2

Syn'X 2 will be 100% compatible with the MiniSyn'X, except the factory libraies are, and will remain, different.wagtunes wrote:Okay, I am REALLY torn over this one.

In the Mini you can have up to 4 Enveloppes, 10 oscillators, and 2 filters per patch. In the Synx and Synx 2, you can have up to 80 oscillators per patch, 24 Enveloppes, and 8 different filters. + A Matrix modulation ( in the mini there are a lot of modulations but they are hardwired). And a lot of other things.
However, you'll have to wait for the Syn'X 2 release to have the 100% compatibility between presets, and various things like the 0df PWM algorythms beeing implemented in the Syn'X 2

The 4 polysequencer parts are played by the lower layer.Lejurai wrote: Another thing really bugging me is the sequencer. Solution : If you dont want to hear the note triggering the sequence, just set the polyphony of the Lower Layer/synth to 0 ( zero), you will still be able to trigger the sequencer but you wont hear the triggering note itself sounding, if you wanna hear it set it to 1 or more.
When a Sequencer preset is in Split mode, you can use the upper Layer/Synth to play freely by hand a totally different and independant sound, for chords and/or melody. Should be very usefull Live, and for composing purposes ( and anyway its fun to play)

Yeah, it's a great price. I love SynthX but it can require a lot of work because it's so deep.VariKusBrainZ wrote:Don't forget you can use your fidelity points to buy this, only cost me £28...... Nobrainer
Something like this would be great for creativity, fast and easy to use, but still has a big quality sound. I have most of their synths. Xils are definitely in my top three devs.
