Oh greatGuillermo Navarrete wrote:Hello,
There is one: Alt + T to open the racks and then Alt + Cmd + T to toggle. There is overall better GUI enhancements than version 7. I like most of the changes, but I couldn't find a shortcut for toggling the view of Rack/MediaBay section. I can with the mouse anyway, but it would be nice if it has a shortcut like the Inspector (Alt+ i). The performance seems slightly better than 7. I didn't have any problem in stability yet, but it seems well put and solid.
Best regards,
GN
What about the "Acoustic Agent SE"? is it installed by default? Do I need to do something to have it? Or I just missed something?
Using: Cubase Pro 15, Bitwig 5, Tascam US-4x4HR, MODX6, DM12D, LaunchKey 49, Yamaha guitar(Pacifica 612v) and bass (BB234) and some virtual instruments and synths.

Alright. I thought that it's supposed to be like on a Mac with the menu bar integrated in the window panel, so you have more space for the program window content. Guess i just got to get used to it. Thanks for explaining.Guillermo Navarrete wrote:Hello,
Funny thing I just explained this 2sec ago on a different forum...chk071 wrote:Guillermo, are there any plans to change the bahvior of the main Cubase window, when trying to close it over the X button up right? The way it is now, whether the main window is maximized, or in window mode, when you click the X, it closes the project window, but the window panel, with the Cubase menus in it, stays open, only the panel, and you can see the desktop below it, until you clicked X another time, then that panel closes too. I don't know if it's a bug or the intended behavior, but it's pretty weird.
It is intended behaviour since Cubase Pro 8 there isn't a main program window like it used to be in Cubase 7, it now behaves like on a Mac where if you close the project page the software it's still there until you close it. It is not a bug.

But why would we want that? Are you guys looking for a buyout by Apple?Guillermo Navarrete wrote:it now behaves like on a Mac

Well, in regards of more screen space for the projetcs window due to the integration of the menu bar into the window panel, i can only welcome such a change. It won't add a hidable program starter panel at the bottom, or add aluminium to your laptop's case, that's for sure.

No, not at all, it was the only way to get the plug-ins from hiding behind the mixer.T-CM11 wrote:But why would we want that? Are you guys looking for a buyout by Apple?Guillermo Navarrete wrote:it now behaves like on a Mac

Btw, is the number of VST instruments you can load in the VST instrument rack infinite now in Cubase Elements 8? Looks like it. In the former versions, the number of VSTi's which could be loaded in there was restricted to 16 i think.
Edit: I see now that the instrument rack was merged with the instrument tracks. Well, that explains it then.

Ah, I see... I accept that motivation.Guillermo Navarrete wrote:No, not at all, it was the only way to get the plug-ins from hiding behind the mixer.
It's just so annoying that every time I Alt-Tab to a standalone synth editor, the mixer appears.

Guillermo, it seems that making music on Windows tablets and the such could be big in the future. Right now only Cubase Elements is a practical alternative for that, nobody wants a dongle on a tablet. Do you have plans to make Cubase more tablet friendly apart from Cubasis?.

To me, a separate program seems more logical for that (like say a Cubasis version for Windows). I don't think that the amount of in-depth editing that Cubase (Artist/Pro) offers would translate well to a touch interface.standalone wrote:Guillermo, it seems that making music on Windows tablets and the such could be big in the future. Like the first version of Windows 8, touch & desktop in one interface does not make a happy marriage.

Check this thread, there are a couple of interesting videos, one of them sponsored by Steinberg:

It will come though, definitely. Windows 10 will be a hybrid too as far as i've read. The time of double-tracked development of mobile and desktop OS will hopefully come to an end soon, as mobile devices slowly get laptop like hardware specs. So it's a good question whether there'll be a dongle free Cubase one day in regards of using it on mobile devices.T-CM11 wrote: Like the first version of Windows 8, touch & desktop in one interface does not make a happy marriage.

Windows 10 will be the continuation of the latest 8.1 update: The interface will be different depending on the input device, not 2 different interfaces at the same time.chk071 wrote: It will come though, definitely. Windows 10 will be a hybrid too as far as i've read.
