I've released the initial version of a freebie utility plugin called Basslane VST/PC. Nothing complicated..but something I often needed myself.

Why would they in the first place. Im asking cos im curious, not to be funny.
Not that I use loops that much, but I know people who use almost loops only. If you've got 3 or 4 loops going (or more!) each one might well have a fair amount of low end from the kicks, even if they've been filtered - and not everybody chops up loops to individual hits. If you filter too much, you lose the flavour of that particular loop. And if you've got that many loops going on, then you almost by definition need to pan them around a little to give a bit of room in the mix. So it's very likely you'd have lower mids from kicks flying around all over your speakers -not always what you'd want.

And....it surprises me how many people don't lowcut all of their instrument channels. So even instruments can build up the bass content (especially on lowpass filtered sounds, which are the most common-used.) So, if you don't lowcut, then Basslane could be a very useful plugin. And I can see situations where there are very good reasons for keeping in the bass content - sometimes it's the combination of the bass from different lines that gives a rhythm or feel to the bass end of a track - but it's usually better to centre your bass than have it panned. And to do that you would need to have every channel with any bass on it in mono and panned centre. Not good!

Hadn't thought of that! Indispensible, in that case! :D

...but, to be honest, BASS-CONTROL fits better :

This tool is so f*cking useful, it has from now on a guaranteed place in my standard FX-chain.

And I have no idea how the UI could be improved !

THANKS, THANKS, THANKS,...(ad infinitum)

Just one thing :
I think, instead of the "Vol.Trim"-knob just for the lows, a Balance-knob (left=just bass, mid=both full, right=no bass) could give even more control.
****!!! YES! i GOT a faster computer now !!! ****!!!

Yes, very good for me too. I need to sort out a lot of stereo issues and this helps.

One more plug for BassMint:
Some great tags;

"Freshens bass fast"

"keeps bass fresh and minty clean all day long"

"Keep your bass frosty"

"never worry about getting close with your base again"

"First impressions mean a lot: What does your bass say about you?"

"Freshens bass and kills 99% of stereo artifacts fast"
:D
..what goes around comes around..

hehe  That's great stuff. You're not bad when bored. I Especially like the Bassomatic 2000 and Bassal Confluencer. Well, maybe not for this plug, but they're very inspiring.

Thanks. It's Photoshop all the way.
The knob widgets are animated with the Knob Render actions which you can download for free on my website. However, the textures used on the gui is from the Pro edition of Knob Render.

too bad someone else called his synth monomachine already - this would have been appropriate. :)

heh - name it something like "bass vs. stereo" - not because these names would fit at all, but they would definitely cause loooong threads @ kvr

or antispread? or narrofx? centrifier?
