I like the look a lot, but it would be nice to still be able to make custom themes.
More importantly...T7 seems very solid here. Nice release. Nice daw.

beside the new theme, overall good first impression here.
i would really like to see another theme, that is not that dark, with overall less contrast.
maybe make three ones, dark, medium, light ...this one burns in the eyes very fast.
t7 seems very stable and responsive.
i like the new projectwindow a lot, very organised and clear.
the new features are all very nice.
especially clip effects are nicely implemented, very good workflow, with one BIG disappointment:
reverbs and delays are still cut at clipborder! come on, this can't be so hard to implement. for example, make an option in the properties panel, where i can set a fixed length of tail for a clip, that is rendered for clipeffects after the clipborder. this would be an outstanding feature for your "patent pending" clipeffects.
what always impresses me, is the small footprint, the whole programm has. the startup of tracktion is legendary fast and seems to be even faster with t7.
i found one bug here (win 8 32bit). the custom menu for plugins seems not to be working in t7. i can see it in the plugins settings page (carried over automatically from t6 settings), but when i set the plugin popup to "custom menu", it is not shown in the edit, when i insert a plugin. it shows nothing but the tracktionplugins in this case.
i only get plugins to show up with the older standard popup menu.
thanks for the new version tracktion team! overall very happy!

That's because you have to add plugins to the custom menu - that's what makes it custom. Same with the tag menu.klangbastler wrote: i found one bug here (win 8 32bit). the custom menu for plugins seems not to be working in t7. i can see it in the plugins settings page (carried over automatically from t6 settings), but when i set the plugin popup to "custom menu", it is not shown in the edit, when i insert a plugin. it shows nothing but the tracktionplugins in this case.

My custom plugins menu doesn't work anymore either. It's in my settings but not visible in the edit page. Apart from that and finding some of the text difficult to read I'm loving T7 so far.klangbastler wrote:i know that, its fully populated my custom menu.

I've changed the typeface a few times to see what effect it has, and it can make a big difference. I tried one called Gigi, but I don't recommend it.FatFreddy wrote:My custom plugins menu doesn't work anymore either. It's in my settings but not visible in the edit page. Would you guys who've upgraded recommend keeping T6 installed as a backup, or are you happy enough to move over to 7 now?

Yes, you can! I now even have my browser on the right side in T6.fedexnman wrote:I bet you can't open projects started in T7 in T6 ?
Obviously the LFO tool and the sidechain won't be available.

However, T7 projects (or T5 projects that you may save on exit) will NOT open in T5; as the file format changed from T5 to T6.

OMG - it is beautiful... breathtaking actually... it almost brought a tear to my eye. Uber slick and seems even faster than 6! I can't wait to do my next tune. It looks like it has some new capability. Is there a manual yet? Any fast way to pickup on the new features? What is the little camera on the VST window for?
