Currently PanShaper only works on stereo channels in Logic.

As a user just asked us: Does anyone know by chance, if a plugin in Logic can have a mono input, and a stereo output (thus turning a mono channel into a stereo channel)?

I believe so, yes. I have some that show mono<stereo.

Cool! Wasn't aware of that - then we'll add that too.

Jakob,

Any comment on the filter ranges?

The filter range is currently 50 Hz up to 18.1 kHz. Are there plans to increase the range of the filters?

Ah, sorry I missed that! There is a good reason (at least we think so..) that we don't go below 50 Hz: It's not just the knob setting, which defines the filter setting, but also the LFOs and the envelopes. Thus, it's easy to have a modulation which goes through big frequency ranges. For this, we wanted to avoid a situation where the filter (maybe with added resonance) goes lower than what users actually hear on their speakers and adds unheard rumble.

I might be ignorant, but I also don't see much reason for going below 50 Hz?

Hi Jakob congratulations on the release another great tool! :hyper:
I have not yet had the opportunity to test but I heard the great examples and watching the video it looks great!

Possible bug? I'm using Panshaper on a few tracks in a pretty busy (for my system) project in Studio One 3 and the GUI seems to take an inordinate length of time to close. This is Windows 10 64bit. Anybody else experience this?

I just tested it with the same setup, and everything worked fine. But I did not have a busy project at hand..

If almost all CPU cycles are used for audio in your project (which is handled with highest prio), then closing plugins can take longer.

It is taking *much* longer than any other plugin though.

Yes, it's the same as PanCake with added multiband editing (6dB and 12dB crossovers), with additional stereo width controls, multiple panning modes, a preset library, and fast access to a comprehensive selection of preset curves.

Would it be possble to turn an ordinary frying pan into a wok with this 'pan-shaper' tool?
Anyone who can make you believe absurdities can make you commit atrocities.

We haven't tested this yet, but I am sure you can fry a lot of delicious pancakes with it.
