bt.w.: that is by far not the only weird bug I encountered while using Tracktion

ahhh...
Did you copy the volume pan from one track to another (or copy the whole track)? I don't think all the instance bugs have been hunted down yet, so probably some part of Tracktion didn;t realise that the two different volpans were actually different.

the weird ones don't bother me so much - they are typically not persistent offenders, and are unliekly to be fixed until they've appeared at least once. I'm more troubled by the life length of some of the old favourites.jens wrote:bt.w.: that is by far not the only weird bug I encountered while using Tracktion

yes, you got it: it was something similar - originallyvalley wrote:ahhh...

it was one track, but then there was a single note which had to get a slightly different sound (and it would have been to much of a hassle to automate the synth) so I copied the whole track and deleted all the other midi-parts

yes, but for the favourites I can finally find workarounds - but if they appear only once and then steal me an afternoon it's more than just slightly annoyingvalley wrote:the weird ones don't bother me so much - they are typically not persistent offenders, and are unliekly to be fixed until they've appeared at least once. YES YES!!! These are the culprits!! Especially 1 and 3!!! (ok so I don't use my midi controller *that* much). These bugs have caused me more frustration than any others. I think I'm mentally scarred. What can I do to be compensated for my troubles? hmm... I can't sue Jules because he's not an American. I KNOW! I'LL SUE THE BUGS!!! Then I'll be rich and I can hire Jules to be my personal code monkey. I'll make him code more bugs that I can then sue for even *more* money. I'm a genius!valley wrote:the three bugs that I really wish were fixed soon, because they most bother me on a day to day basis are:
1) looping - both losing the first note, and the fact that timing on the playback of the first note can be a little off
2) the MIDI IN icon takes an unreasonable amount of time to register the fact that it has been dragged to a new track. If I drag in th input to a track, count to fice, I don;t expect to still be sending MIDI data to the old track, especially when the note off almost never goes to the the old track so hung notes are almopst a certainty.
3) the click through bug where plugin UIs don't receive click events on their surfaces, leaving those events to do random things to any underlying widgets or unecessarily close the plugin window.
everything else I can wait until V2 if needs be, but these three things have been making me use FL far more than I'd like of late.
Huh? Oh, sorry. Did I just say all that out loud?
but seriously, these bugs suck ass. they must be eliminated! THEY ARE THE WEAKEST LINK!!
Man, I really am in a silly mood.

So... back to my original point, could we have some idea from Jules when and IF these last few bugs will be resolved ? I'm not just moaning for the sake of it, I mean - Tracktion is a superb piece of software, BUT it's being spoiled by a handful of irritating bugs that need to be finally sorted out.
Look through the list of posts here - how many of them are bug related ?
Something - *anything* from Jules would go a long way to reassuring those of us who have bought into Tracktion 1 and help make it the success it is becoming. I know it's a steal at the price, but if the bugs remain and are never resolved, then I for one will think about going elsewhere... can't think exactly where right now, but I can't produce music with a system that makes me curse ! ...I get more than enough of that from my O.S.
