Hi, please make waveform available without collective - and in doing so a much smaller download! Not everyone wants a huge sample set on their computer, indeed if you use Tracktion to record real instruments collective is of no use.
I also think a lot of people will already have a sampler or sample player in their VST folder.

As per another thread, it actually already is, definitely if you've bought it, maybe also if you already have an account. Check the 'archives' link beside the main Wavform installer on your Downloads page, there's a Waveform-only installer there.keithm wrote:Hi, please make waveform available without collective

I'm not being funny, but this has literally already been addressed by Dave in the first post in this thread ...keithm wrote:Hi, please make waveform available without collective - and in doing so a much smaller download! Bundle download size
We’re aware many of you were put off by the large size of the initial Waveform download. Almost all of this is the audio content to go with Collective. As Collective is included with the Waveform price at all levels, we wanted to make sure that users found it easy to download and install everything they are entitled to in one easy step. To further improve this, we made the initial authorisation form unlock all products for which you have access to. This means no matter what bundle you buy, the process is the same single download and single authorisation step.
Whilst many of you may be experienced DAW users and are used to lots of plugin downloads, scanning and authorisation, many of our users are new to the audio world and we wanted to make this process as easy as possible for them so they could get to making music as quickly as possible.
For Waveform updates, or those of you familiar with Tracktion and don’t want to download Waveform, you can get the Waveform only installers from the “archives” link in your downloads section. We will look at ways to improve the visibility of these links over the next couple of days.

FYI everyone, if you go to your "My Downloadable Products" section in Marketplace now you'll see Waveform only installer links (32 & 64-bit) just below the bundles.keithm wrote:Hi, please make waveform available without collective - and in doing so a much smaller download! I thought it would only appear in 'archive' if you purchase it: I want to download and try it and I do not want to download 3GB just to try it! BTW, I have had every version of Tracktion since 2.1 so I certainly support it and like it!

No. It's there whether you've purchased it or not, so you are able to download and try it.keithm wrote:I thought it would only appear in 'archive' if you purchase it: I want to download and try it and I do not want to download 3GB just to try it! No, if you've previously purchased Master Mix or Micro Synth Pack individually or as part of one of the T6/T7 bundles you still have a licence to those and can use them in other hosts.rich_h wrote:This appears to suggest that those of us who previously bought MasterMix and Micro Synth Pack to use in any host will no longer be able to do so. I hope that is a miscommunication because I wouldn't be happy otherwise.
The versions of Master Mix and FM Synth that come with Waveform are embedded and you don't get access to the individual downloads or a separate licence for them. They're now just part of Waveform in the same way that a bunch of other internal plugins are (pitch shifter, 4-band EQ, Chord Player etc.). Every host I can think of does this, we've now just bolstered the main DAW with these two internal plugins.

I suspected that was the case, but what you wrote originally seemed a little ambiguous. OSX 10.11.16 on a old imac late 2007. Note there are no lag issue with other DAWs, even Logic X run smoothly. For example, can you try microtonic plugins and look at the master level waveform window on it ? I can observe micro freezings. This plugin is OK on other DAW.gesslr wrote:What system are you running? Waveform is zippy for me under OS X....dupont wrote:I'll second that. Waveform is soo sloooow on OSX. I had to switch off hi res mod to make it run smoother.aMUSEd wrote:Fab! Please also try and optimise things some more. I can't see how this could run on Raspberry Pi and yet perform so badly on Mac.
I like the tabbed midi clip, better than previous versions with in line midi clips; it was not convenient to zoom in and out to edit a clip.
Mixer is a great addition.
The chord, bass line, arpegio managment is a clever welcome future.
To be honest, I did not tried more. 3 fatal crashes within 30 mn, I also could not find the notes I had just recorded, made me close waveform ...

I'm just trying out Microtonic and can't notice any lag or freezing. Where's the "master level waveform window" you mention?dupont wrote:OSX 10.11.16 on a old imac late 2007. Sorry, my understanding for this chaos is fading with evry new mismanagement. While evrybody who downloads the DEMO of waveform gets biotek 1.5.6 in my account (yes, in the archive too....) as someone who BOUGHT biotek is still 1.5.5.
So I am downloading the waveform installer AGAIN (just 3 GB....) for getting my update of biotek, sorry but thats just a bit too much of

If you mean the oscilloscope in Microtonic, it was removed in the last update, which tweaked the GUI:dRowAudio wrote:I'm just trying out Microtonic and can't notice any lag or freezing. I hoped that Collective will be more sampler than synth. Hopefully this gets better when you introduce editing capabilities (and crossing fingers for some import or convertor from SFZ/EXS24, maybe even scripting capabilities like Lua, mruby or JavaScript). One click patch share function would be also killer and innovative function, as the name suggest it might be collective sampler (at least for patches - I can understand that samples might be issue for legal reasons). I think Collective could be sold separately, for Linux users this is a killer product and if it had importing capabilities it is no-brainer no matter which Linux DAW you use.
Musicality tools are awesome, please add more feature in this area like chord recognition and other things that can help to hobby musicians like me. Really like it, but so far I was focusing just for sampler. I am staying on my T7 for now until you sanitize Collective, which is the only reason for me to upgrade (I am on Linux.

When does the pricing for people who have own some of the plugins or have bought the plugins recently, come out? I already have both MicroSynths and MasterMix (bought ages ago), and also DAW Essentials (bought after the stated cut off this year).
Also, does this mean that the standalone versions of these products will be going away?
