Cubase not recording midi data

short answer is because there are 100000 ways to hook something to a computer and pass packets of data. You are just forcing a "known" way.

well, I should go verify before I categorically say things like that .. but I'm pretty sure Cubase pre-roll is count-in only. You have to do retrospective record to get things before the punch point. I'll check here shortly, and if I'm wrong I'll let you know.jancivil wrote:except for mereally? I am indeed incorrect. you can separate pre-roll from count-in. It's weird to watch an event get created and notes appear before the punchpoint when the transport is not moving LOL

So DM Timing fixed playing single notes being converted to chords?

edit: re-reading now I realise that wasn't his issue. He kept mentioning always chords so I thought he meant even if he played a single note a chord would come out.....he meant if he played a bunch of notes they would all be recorded onto a rigid grid?
