I must admit the no demo thing never bothered me. But now that there are bugger all audio demos and no video demos it is pretty annoying. I'd like to at least have some minuscule degree of "I may want this" before buying. Obviously AD don't give a flying fornication about that soSoarer wrote:Would have been nice with a demo though.

There's a couple of audio demos on the product page, but otherwise agree; back in the day, CR would do a video running through the plugin features...guess it's not a priority for them nowadaysmorelia wrote:I must admit the no demo thing never bothered me. There's a problem with a couple of audio demos. It can't possibly appeal to everyone. There is honestly nothing in the 2 demo tracks that is like anything I would use.mcnelson wrote:There's a couple of audio demos on the product page, but otherwise agree; back in the day, CR would do a video running through the plugin features...guess it's not a priority for them nowadaysmorelia wrote:I must admit the no demo thing never bothered me. Yes a proper walkthrough video would still give a good impression if this is really something that would fit into ones music making.

It's way way more grainy sounding. More like old algorithms from old rackmount units or guitar multifx boxes. UA uses FFT for the pitchshifting in fault so it has "that" sound and "that" sound only (which is a pretty good sound for lots of uses) with the added latency of the transform. All of the modes in discord are based off a simple delay line and you can get radically different sounds out of it by changing the size of that delay buffer with the buffer setting. So in short. It's probably not gonna sound as smooth as fault at many settings but you can get a whole lot more variety of sounds out of it as far a pitchshifting goes. Past that it's kind of apples to oranges because bothe have lots more stuff after the pitchshifter to further play with the sound, and the feature set is not really comparable directly from one to the other. Which is how I end up owning so many plugins.Soarer wrote:I see there's no demo for this. So how does it sound?
I make Electronica, Idm, Glitch and Ambient and love sound design. Will this do the trick?
I did see the audio demos but they don't show that much - so is this a good pitch shifter without the ugly artifacts?
@Ah_Dziz How is this compared to Unfiltered Audio pitch shifters like Fault?

In short though, you can do lots of clean and beautiful sounds with discord. You can also do super gnarly and dirty things. As far as the pitchshifter goes, most of this is achieved with the size of the buffer.

Thanks for the info man
Buffer size doesn't change the delay time right? So you can get it to sync well?

Nope!Soarer wrote: Buffer size doesn't change the delay time right? So you can get it to sync well?
Delay time for both channels is controled by the Delay parameters, one for left and one for right.

Doesn't AD still have a full-refund policy ? Or am I just imagining that. I'd swear I heard Chris in one of his more business-like posts here on KvR simply say that it's a matter of tech support. Ie = you buy it, and we'll help you get it working on DAW XXX, or $39 Host YYY, otherwise, he ain't got the time/money to deal with user problems. But, if you can't get it to work, or you hate it, then he'll just refund your purchase price. Anyone else recall that ? It's a little 'harsh' as far as company rules go, but ya havta admit that it makes financial sense, and solves the -no demo available- problem at once. *shrug*

Their policy was a full refund if you don't like it. I got a refund in the past.

Q: Do you make demo versions of your plugins?
A: No, we do not. We offer a no-questions-asked money back guarantee instead. You can ask for a refund for 30 days after your purchase, and you can ask for a single exchange of like or lesser value up to 60 days after your purchase.

If you have an iOS device you could „try“ the AudioDamage tools for a fraction of the price.
Or just use the same tools much cheaper and could get a refund (via Apple) if you are not happy.
I see really not much value in the desktop tools.

It's hidden in the "main" menu. Click the three lines top right corner. Quite will hidden. I also needed to "click thru".krzys wrote:Hello
I think i am missing something on the saving/loading side of presets.
Created a new preset and saved it to my regular preset folder
Now when i load up Dis4 and attempt to load that saved preset i cannot find any load button located within the copy/paste/save/delete/close options available in the disclosure menu.
What am i missing?

I have another issue with the user presets. Saving them didn't open a default folder. The Finder was opened just the last folder I used in another application
Is there a default user preset folder? Where is it? Can you please upgrade Discord 4, so it automatically opens that folder each time.
And here's a feature request I often ask developers: Please add the possibility to set a user specific path, that is remembered (see above). This way I can use Dropbox and share the presets easily between computers. TAL has implemented this very well.
I like the new Discord 4 much better over v3. GUI is way more appealing and user friendly. I didn't compare v3 and v4, but I think the base sound is the same quality = very good. Looking forward to test the MIDI play feature.

Chris Randall solved the problem.....it was a permissions problem with the Audio Damage folder located in the Library.
Thx Chris
