I wasn't suggesting you not express yourself... just that if someone is doing the work, they are the one who should be happy with a choice and willing, even pleased to use it.mevla wrote:I expressed and documented my opinion. Check out the Bitwig forum. They use a sub-forum for scripting stuff.Urs wrote:He actully favours the idea. I checked out the Bitwig forum. Their scripting subforum link is right at the top of their forum page. So the u-he Linux subforum will get the best real-estate on the u-he page too. That will make everyone think u-he takes Linux versions super-seriously, which they do of course.

Nevertheless, as in any environment where many people work together (and in this case with the "Linux community" put into focus), it's not only a matter of the person doing the work and being happy with the choices the person made. Suggestions can still be made and also well described if only to pass the stage of a mere "hunch" about "something". As in all environments where many people work, we evaluate suggestions and sometimes we go about something not exactly like we planned to at the beginning. That's normal.pdxindy wrote: I wasn't suggesting you not express yourself... just that if someone is doing the work, they are the one who should be happy with a choice and willing, even pleased to use it.
The colorful reference to North Korea was about the 'nail that sticks out will get hammered' attitude that's prevalent in many Asian societies. Without value-comparing the different approaches, in the West we tend to speak more openly about opinions.
Cheers.
