Cubase 10?

Since moving up from 6.5 , I do admit I do prefer 9.5, automation is a million miles better, but i've hit a shit load of problems with MIDI. They have to sort that out.
Basically open a VST synth in the rack, create a MIDI track for it, THEN create another vst instrument in the rack F11, and create another MIDI track to control it. Now switch between various MIDI tracks and for some reason some MIDI tracks play 2 instruments , others play them all, it's a real mess.
Why can it not be like 6.5 , F11 > create instrument > ask me if I want a MIDI track for it or not.
And I cannot find out how to open the MIDI track, to make it control many instruments, like I could in 6.5
Also, if 10 is coming, the GUI needs the option to lighten it. I cannot stand the dull tracks all the time. Really fking annoying Steinberg.

I think Steinberg bandoned rack instruments, they moved towards increase abilities on track instruments instead.LeVzi wrote: Why can it not be like 6.5 , F11 > create instrument > ask me if I want a MIDI track for it or not.
One useful thing - track archives(in Pro) - can be used to restore often used sets of tracks - like track templates in other daws like Reaper and Sonar. It keep routings as well.
Much more useful than track presets.
You can't do any of that with rack instruments.
If you are like me - you use an instrument in many projects - and you restore such quickly with track archive, and just change which sounds are to play after that. But full setup is rather quick.
There should be midi sends - did you try that? And I cannot find out how to open the MIDI track, to make it control many instruments, like I could in 6.5
I was also disturbed that my former coloring was gone upgrading to 9.5, but there is actually a reason for it. It's much more detailed in 9.5 as I recall - more parts that can get their own color. I find it improved. Also, if 10 is coming, the GUI needs the option to lighten it. I cannot stand the dull tracks all the time. Really fking annoying Steinberg.

It does kinda work the same if you hide instrument tracks and assign MIDI tracks, but im having issues with it.
As for MIDI sends, they are there but I cannot assign them to VST instruments, only the MIDI inserts that come with Cubase, in 6.5 you could enable the send and assign it to whatever accepting incoming MIDI.

What you said with 6.5 works for me.
I get two parts in Inspector - one for midi inserts and one for midi sends.
Just activating a send - you get Not connected - and opening the list every VST instrument is there as well as all hardware midi outputs.
All VST input says "midi In" on end of name in list.
Weird part - Instrument tracks does not have midi sends, just midi inserts. It's been requested since forever to get that there as well - so you create a instrument track and just send to another as well, since it takes midi. So gues skipping default midi on instrument track, pretends it's not there - and just use separate midi tracks is the way to go.
I tested with Rack Instrument as well, and it's there directly from a send.
And I also got a question whether to create a midi track or not for that rack instrument.
Even not getting a midi track, it is listed as relevant output destination.
I got Cubase Pro - don't know if some things are not there in Artist version - or what you have.

Same here.Funkybot's Evil Twin wrote:I'd like to see:
1. Improved plugin mapping for generic control surfaces. 8 "Quick Controls" doesn't cut it. I should be able to map out my entire controller to any plugin, and have the host retain those settings like Studio One allows for (as an example).
If they just built #1 I'd be happy.
Would like to be able to alt-cut scissor which take swing setting into account.
Also fixing offline processing and make better Hitpoint detection. .. would be nice.

Ok yeah I concede. Cubase does have a flaw and it's quick controls. I hate those little buggerscnt wrote:Same here.Funkybot's Evil Twin wrote:I'd like to see:

i think it will never happen , cubase 9.5 is not cracked and the last cracked version was 5 , steinberg don't care if you need 1 usb port ...until the elicenser dongle will be totally done steinberg will not change the licence system.benheman wrote:I totally would love that!Funkybot's Evil Twin wrote:That'd be nice. This guy who is a mod in the Steinberg forums, and seems to have some more inside knowledge, seems to disagree: viewtopic.php?p=7055948#p7055948
Someone i know (yes, really) told me that all Cubase versions have been cracked, BTW. They just don't work too well.
There's always a feature which doesn't work.

I see it now, in the left hand inspector, but if you open the Inspector by clicking the e it opens inserts and sends for the MIDI track, and you cannot do it there, but doesnt matter I can on the other one.lfm wrote:LeVzi wrote: As for MIDI sends, they are there but I cannot assign them to VST instruments, only the MIDI inserts that come with Cubase, in 6.5 you could enable the send and assign it to whatever accepting incoming MIDI.
