clearly lots of people really like Tracktion. Personally I've downloaded the demo twice, said 'ooh that's pretty, but how does it work', arsed around for half an hour and then deleted it. but, to each their own etc.

Quantize is better than other hosts. There's clip quantize which is non-destructive, i.e. it just superimposes the quantize setting over the clip without losing the original note positions, along with the traditional style of quantize.
Every day takes figuring out all over again how to f#ckin’ live.

Theres a bug which causes tracks to render with big volume spikes, i get this when i have tracks with lots of tiny, sometimes overlapping, audio clips.quincy wrote:its more if its easy to chop up my loops, parts etc and drag bits between different tracks, fade in/out, automation of FX etc.
Apart from this, and the ugly timestreching .. audio handling is great.
Moving automation curves is fiddly, you cant lock curves to clips, which is a shame.
(lack of an official bug tracking system, or 'outstanding issues' list sucks
IMO quantize is worse than other hosts

just thought id point out that both cubase and logic can do this non-destructive midi quantisation that you talk about
they also both do the save last take as midi
ie you can jam away and if you come up with anything good you can save it - bloody godsend
and cubase can get groove templates from audio or midi files

Hi Friends
I have version 1.5.1.16 and I wonder, when I want to update it do I have to uninstall this version or can I just install 1.6 over it?
Thanks, Willem

ost12666 found this pdf file for the Final mix plug....
It is not spcifically written for use with Tracktion and is dated from 2001 but it seems to cover all bases regarding the Final mix plug.

I think Mackie will likely throw in the rest of the Acuma plugs for Tracktion 2.

Well, a lot of people have put forward positive opinions on tracktion, but there are certain people who i trust more than others, and one of them said that tracktion has a few pretty major flaws, so i think i might skip it and stick with EnergyXT, cos the audio sequencing in that is pretty good, and getting better all the time.
