When updates cease you won't get them. :clown:

Not at all. Literally every OS update can break your software, also depending on the way the software was coded, of course. There's nothing 100% safe, that's why I wonder why people worry so much about things which are not in their hands anyway.

There's one thing which is for sure: The software as it is when you buy it today.

Genau. Exactly. There's nop harm at all in keeping an OS as it is for music production purposes, not always connected if needed, and having another, updatable and always connected, , OS for other things. I don't know about Windows or Mac, but in Linux it's rather easy to have several OSes and choosing which one to run. It's also very easy to disable internet if needed.

you can disconnect your computer from the internet, and work with it for years. i don't, but someone i know does, because he likes what he has. 10 years, 11 years the computer still runs, i have built it, so... but there are solutions.. and: even hardware can suffer... the technology in your home, it can break, your tv, fridge, etc. your synths.

but i agree, that i sometimes worry. but there is a fall back option. (although, i must keep all installers, i do. not all them..) so in the end you can get years out of it, when things aren't supported anymore because of an OS update, on an OS that still supports it.
buy an older computer... cpu's never die.. almost never.. motherboards, yes..

note to myself; keep all the installers; enough room..

You can start off with whatever is the most desired bundle and expand with other bundles getting a discount for plugins shared between the bundles (at least if you ask support nicely you should, I'm not sure if that stuff is automated presently), and there's usually a pretty decent price to upgrade to a bigger bundle that includes all of what you've allready got. And once you've gotten into your bundle of choice slowly but surely it's pretty much guaranteed to expand with other plugins that you get for free. I've upgraded in three increments towards what is now known as the MTotalFXBundle, and it's crazy how much stuff has been added to the bundle(s) over the years.

It's possible I could have gotten away with a combination of lesser bundles and the occasional added license for the most interesting plugins if I spend crazy much time demoing and comparing to find the most apt of the plugins, but I'm happy for the convenience of a bigger bundle and it's been such crazy value for money given how much has been added I've absolutely no regrets.

Personally I'm presently a happy camper with MXXX setting up my own FX chains with feedback loops etc within that environment where I don't have to program my own FX but still have pretty much what I'd want of flexibility within a modular environment without having to go into the details of some programming language and repeadetly reinventing the wheel within a visual programming language. Hopefully I made sense to anyone but myself here. Also here it's great that most new plugins will pop up as modules within MXXX. Offcourse MXXX and bundles that include the full version have a fairly hefty pricetag now, but if it works for you I'd dare say it's worth it as it's pretty unique for those of us who can't get into the Reaktor way of things. Also there's that lesser version of MXXX if you get how that works with only using module versions of plugins that you've got etc, if you even care about a modular environment like MXXX that is. Offcourse also here you can keep expanding and build up to including the full version of MXXX at some later point when finances allow.

All in all, yes I'd dare say it's a solid investment if you like and get the Melda approach. Also I personally am quite happy with once having learned what is shared between most of the plugins in the way the GUI and system works and the way multiparameters and modulators are set up I'm generally set up for learning how to use new MeldaProduction plugins quite quickly.

Sorry if I got a bit verbose, I tried editing it down but for now this is as good as it got...

To answer the OP's questions:

1. Yes, a couple of times a year, Meldaproduction runs a 50% off everything sale, and that includes all of the bundles.

2. There is nothing "in place" to ensure that there will be any updates to the software, ever. Companies fail. People retire or die. Never buy software with the expectation that it will ever be anything other than what it is when you buy the license.

The big benefit of Meldaproduction's lifetime license, what it really means to me, is that whatever updates DO come, I will get them without being asked to cough up more money. Unlike, say iZotope products, where to upgrade from Ozone 8 to Ozone 9 will cost me, to upgrade from MReverbMB 14 to MReverbMB 15, or FreeFXBundle Pro 14 to 15 will not. And just as I spend my money on Ozone 8 and consider it well spent even though it will never be upgraded, I would consider my money well spent on MReverbMB 14 if it were never upgraded.
