I'd rather you not post because it's a work in progress and will be updated regularly until it's ready to go into the factory library. Having another version floating around can only make troubleshooting more difficult.Schopenhauer wrote: Tue Dec 08, 2020 1:58 pm I've changed some cosmetics on this great preset;
Removed the sliders and replaced with buttons (horizontal controls)
Changed some knobs to buttons
Changed the Reverb Device control to fine movement (found I was skipping past lots of options)
Messed with Reverb colours
Didn't alter any of the wiring.
This was my first adventure into the Manager and not understanding it all yet. Going to watch some videos. Could post the PasteBin if you don't mind Horus?
You can send me the preset you made and I can incorporate what I think works. I'll definitely add the fine control to the reverb options tho. Nice catch.
Without seeing it, I can tell you some things that may or may not make me incorporate it.
1) Changing the vertical sliders to horizontal "buttons" makes orienting what slider sends to which channel harder. 4 vertical sends, 4 vertical reverb "channel strips" just makes sense.. As it is now, you don't even need the text on the slider to be able to quickly make adjustments. So that probably won't change unless there's something I'm missing?
2) The rest of the controls are less about the type of control and more about minimizing height differences between the 2 tabs. Tons of blank space at the bottom of one and not the other just feels weird. Especially when you get into skins that exacerbate that like FModern 2. Given that "Throw" and "Tape" are almost entirely horizontal buttons and label aligned, which reduces height as much as possible, makes those rows the limiting factor. Changing from a larger height control like "Normal" to "Button" can only make the height differences greater on every channel and the height between each tab is most likely further apart as well. Typically I use delimiters to mediate this problem, but each one uses a MP. And as you see, there are no more. So the game now, is all about maximizing editor options to mediate that.
3) Is minimizing width (which you didn't mention anything that would affect this) but something to keep in mind. Because of the 4 strips already being super wide, 2 "Normal" knobs couldn't be on the same row in the same strip as it will drastically increase the size of the plugin window. The only things that can be right next to each other would 2 parameters that can be label aligned. Like the Hi / Low cut on the delays. Even writing out the full word "Crowd" instead of "CRD" has pretty big impact on width because of the little collapse icon attached to that one lane
But again, I'd love to check your out and that fine control fix will be on the next one for sure
Edit: Already changed the reverb controls to fine control. Didn't update the version tho but the code block and pastebin is updated
