:hihi: It looks like you changed only the section that I liked!

I have no idea why I took the time to do this, but I just felt like showing you what I mean by flat:

Maybe it looks too e-phonic/native instruments...

LOL

I have no idea why I took the time to do this, but I just felt like showing you what I mean by flat:
ok, but the upper knobs are flatter in my last version, no?

anyway thanks, I understand much better which a graphic example, <grin>

They are, but I never minded those having some 3D to them, TBH. And the lighter versions don't have enough contrast with the white indicators in the compression section. Hard to read. BTW, I love that each output channel gets a compressor - VERY cool feature!

If a picture is worth 1000 words, it would take us a lot of words to express what we mean, right?

last two for today:

Just my opinion but I don't like either one. Why not get someone like Jorgen of Nbeat or even BONES to do a skin for your drum machine? :?

For real, man..We're in the middle of a GUI rennaisance, no offense but that stuff is looking pre-VST/32..

:?

Ouch. Well maybe you guys haven't noticed that liqih doesn't seem to be a fan of being the same as the rest. His tastes are, shall we say, individual.

I don't even know what that's supossed to mean, but good luck anyways..If looking good qualifies as 'bieng like the rest', well..

Like I said, ya lost me..

Who did the GUI on that last synth you released liqih? That one looked cool..MicroRock..

I'm just trying to be honest, graphically speaking it looks pre-2001..If you don't think that would potentially impact sales..well..

None of my business I guess..

It means that different folks have different tastes; different ideas of what looks "good." And then there's liqih. :hihi:

Good luck to me? :?

Maybe he doesn't care. I remember sending an email to the Ohm guys about how their website seemed to be designed to look very special, but also designed in such a way that most people were more likely to click that black "x" up at the top right than any of the links that might lead to a purchase. They thanked me for my input, but for the most part they find that being able to express themselves in the way that pleases them the most is more important.

Having said that, though, I agree with you that this GUI design seems to be lacking a certain polish that I would love to see. That's why I did my little mock-up for him! Also, I agree that the microRock GUI was nice - almost as good as the older, flat designs - that were never really released, I don't think...

well I was about to post another one but...

ok I have to say, when Pro Sounds asked me to make a GUI for PS-1 like the one I did for EVE, I said them: "pick Jorgen of Nbeat", and they did.

GUI rennaisance? sorry I don't see that, maybe Live
and some plugins that mimic it,

microrock GUI was made by Hollow Sun,
cool but it's very 3D hardware with screws and all,
so you say rennaisance then suggest that?, puzzling, <grin>

I wonder what people think of Anarchy Effect GUIs,

anyway I did all skins so far for NUSofting and Dash
(except microrock), and I love to find my way as pough said, you can check the many at http://liqihsynth.com/catalogue.htm

EVE GUI is the most loved by users, but I still prefer the Abstract Guitar,

I may say that I make this developer job
for I'm crazy and I prefer to sell less with a GUI a I like than sell more with a GUI I don't,

of course I look for a compromise (at least to me) and here is one:

Well... that ain't too bad at all! I still think that the octagons could be nicer. They look unbalanced, somehow. And a little irregular, like they've been drawn in by hand or something.

Anyways, top marks for this latest! The best so far!

Better, but I would definately change the colors. Maybe try this: http://wellstyled.com/tools/colorscheme2/index-en.html
