It can, for instance when you have the Scope open. We recommend to close it unless you need it. And of course, as mentioned often, run it in fast/eco.accessdune3 wrote: Fri Mar 05, 2021 1:56 pm Urs,
im wondering about the idle performance of Hive 2. I have a project with Hive 2 instruments only ~40-ish (50) and even just sitting there doing nothing they suck up half of CPU, even the CPU fan starts spinningIs that suppose to happen on Idle?
Hive 2.1 Release Candidate 2 (updated to revision 11037)

Do internal FX being on also use CPU if there are no voices being played? If yes, I'd image 50 instances with a few FX running on each could use up quite a bit of CPU even if no voices were playing. Depending on the CPU and lots of other factors. 40 instances would destroy my awful for audio Windows laptop.

I think it depends on the effect. Some go into standby when there's silence, but some may not. That depends on a few properties and I don't have a full map of which effect acts which way in my head.Funkybot's Evil Twin wrote: Fri Mar 05, 2021 3:42 pm Do internal FX being on also use CPU if there are no voices being played?

2.1 seems to be working nicely, and the new sounds are great fun!

Plugin crashes in Bitwig as well. Also had a crash before that may have had to do with Random Modulation.Cepheus wrote: Sat Mar 06, 2021 4:35 pmI can confirm that this also crashes Reaper 6.25 (64 bits) on win 10.matamoris wrote: Sat Mar 06, 2021 4:05 pm I can reproduce a crash in Logic:

Thanks so much, guys, great find.
We checked it, and this bug crept in just a few revisions/days ago.
We are on it now, fixing it asap.
