Whatever people write, RBass is a widely used plugin for many years and just can't get replaced, UNFORTUNATELY!
Waves have a couple of plugins that can hardly be matched, but, well, have to find different tools, that will do something different, but still something good, maybe even close to Waves.
Some plugins look simple like RVox, RBass, RComp, L1, Metaflanger or MV2, but they are very effective and efficient !

Isn't that high honestly if you started using them early, plus if you need multiple licenses (e.g. when soundgrid required separate license and you were on that train), they goes up quick. People did actually pay $3k for Platinum bundle in a box.
An unsupported/legacy version will broke for sure it's just matter of time, while an alternative (if you pick the right one ofc) it's supported, so you shoudn't face this issue at all.
This part makes me saddest. Very few vendors like Wave keep _everything_ updated/working overtime no matter popularity, and for the most part you can count on their full catalog eventually get supported.

Softska, I did not write that, please correct it.

Interesting. I considered MV2 as an alternative to Eventide's Omnipressor MKII, because I couldn't afford it while having MV2 already. Omnipressor just sounds better to me.

I saw someone mentioned TBProAudio CS-5501. It seems to have comparable features. I’m not sure though.
Thanks. That’s probably the closest one. The only other thing that I have that is vlose is Izotope Neutron…. and Im pretty sure they may hop on the subscription boat sometime in the future as well.

MV2 can be easily replaced with anything that lets you modify the transfer function. You could even load it up in plugin doctor and exactly match the curves and timings, then save as a preset.
