I think it's great the Trackion company , still works on Waveform still . They've done a lot of things with sound design , vst plugins , and soundsets/presets . I hope they are in good shape for the long run . I feel if they could get a stable running DAW , the sky would be the limit for them .

Have there been any rumors about whether the windowing under Linux will be fixed? In particular, I mean using native system decoration, movement, resizing for plugin windows and other dialogue windows.

Current state is really very, very unhandy. Almost stopper. It is a reason I switch to Reaper from time to time.

It's a good question. But there is no any BR on this problem AFAIK. To replace the titlebar of Waveform plugin window with native one - you need to change just a bit of code, but you have to place the "Bypass" and "Sidechain" buttons somewhere inside the window, as these buttons are currently inside the Waveform decorations. Not so straightforward.

Did I see "Speech to Text" near the "Split to Stems"? That's kind of interesting.

Excuse my thread resurrection but I just took another look at this. It looks like it may have been mostly abandoned because it's not in the menu but it lingers on as a scriptable function.

I assigned it to a key commination and tried it out on one of my long-gone grandfather's sermons. It doesn't work. There's a small chance it's because of his Scottish accent but I think it's more likely that they just never got it to properly work and for that reason quietly de-menu'd it.

Audacity can use some OpenVINO files and do speech to text. I haven't tried it with a Scottish accent.

Unfortunately it appears that whenever one updated Audacity, one has to do the OpenVINO files again
