Cypher, what i meant was not only chords – sure you CAN program parallel "real" chords with similar results (if not as tight-sounding imo)
When I say resampling it can also mean sampling two seconds of a whole arrangement (forming a chordlike structure), like, a piano chord, the bass , a flute, a set of strings, possibly even a stray bongo all playing at the same time, all mixed/"mastered" even... and play that as a one shot sample, filter/envelope it to suit my needs etc.
It's a certain vibe you can't get just playing one or two synths imo. Desired aliasing, mickey-mousing etc have been mentioned, but most importantly it's capturing "that vibe" and making it an instrument in it's own right. But I'm starting to ramble
...it's a pet topic of mine

Durante?
Hendrix for those who are too young to remember. It really was a huge shock at the time.

First of all, I would like to thank you guys for answering so fast. I didn´t expect that at all.
First of all, that resampling was very intersting although I can´t see the point by playing a chord with a selected instrument, exporting it and then playing a chord again. According to my reasoning it would sound horrible but maybe you meant that you play a chord, export it and then just play one note at a time.
Anyway, here is a little demo from a little bugger which is terrorizing people all over the world on the radio at the moment. To refresh your mind i would like to say: the aerobic musicvideo.

Ok, the sound that is filtering up is the one I´m after so don´t confuse it with the sound which is panned on the right and is almost played constantly through the whole demo. The strangest thing is, I can´t tell if that´s a guitar or a synth.
I would SO love to bring up how to make the bassline aswell but I guess that would only confuse this thread.
Anyway, thanks for all the good advices. This forum rocks when it comes to these kinds of things.

Can't help you on cheesemeister prydz anthem though. On the grounds that these kind of things shouldn't be encouraged.

Sorry cypher, all I can hear is a vocal and an FM'y percussion sound.CypherOne wrote: ermm no not really, the stab bit...

I guess it's the percussion sound then, that's what I'd call a stab or at least it's a sound I want to know how to reproduce. It's definitely not vox, I can sing like that already...nuffink wrote:Sorry cypher, all I can hear is a vocal and an FM'y percussion sound.CypherOne wrote: ermm no not really, the stab bit...

I'm no expert but, if pushed, I'd say that sounds like a tympani drum from an FM synth.CypherOne wrote:I guess it's the percussion sound then, that's what I'd call a stab or at least it's a sound I want to know how to reproduce.
