I already expressed my opinion on this in the official thread, but I think the fact that the mappings are fixed is a really poor design choice, and I hope that they add something like a mod matrix or performance macros that can be linked to MPE in future versions.Tj Shredder wrote: Thu Jul 13, 2023 10:35 am I had to get it, and its great. Very different to any other PM synth, but the sounds are great. Playing them expressively in MPE opens up a new world.
Well, it sets the range to the standard 48, that is what I usually want. I don‘t have to do anything more than just switching on MPE mode. An extra plus is, that this is not saved with the presets. Others don‘t get it, that this has to be global…SteinyFritz wrote: Tue Jul 11, 2023 2:55 pm MPE integrations is perfunctory here, quite bad. Can't adjust the Pitchbend range on the synth, when adjusting it to the range of the quick start guide, it slides to the wrong note. There are so many of those badly implemented MPE plugins. I'd rather they forgo on the effort if it so low. Frustrating.
Most other MPE synths are way more „perfunctory“.
I disagree to the quoted statement, but didn‘t dive into creating sounds with it yet. The presets already make me happy…
Mostly, I really dislike the choice to hardwire strike force to MPE Y position rather than velocity. There are cases where using Y position makes a lot of sense (it's great with multi-strike, for example), but for single plucks/hits, using velocity makes so much more sense. They describe their rationale for this as being based on the velocity (in-)sensitivity and relatively large Y axis of the Seaboard, but on the Linnstrument, with the Y axis packed into a much smaller physical space (and perhaps this just speaks to my limited abilities) it makes for wildly inconsistent strikes in MPE mode.
