The market will dictate the value. Hint: $109 isn't it. Neither will be anything higher than $109. Huge blunder for XLN. Take it off the market, fix the bugs and workflow issues and reintroduce at $49. Even for a v1, this is frustrating to use and lacking in features people need - features that should have been in a v1 but apparently may show up in a v1.5 or v2. In the meantime, after 3 hours of use, I was completely bored with it. That's not a good sign.

I will never (and I really mean never) depend on feature updates from XLN. After XO, I don't trust them at all. You'll get bug updates but there probably won't be a substantial feature update for this until 2025. This was a quick no from me. The fact they released this without updating XO says everything to me.burkek wrote: Tue Dec 05, 2023 6:19 pm The market will dictate the value. Hint: $109 isn't it. This does look like a fun plugin for sure. But for that (intro) price it's clearly a no-go for me.
If I remember right, XO was also priced higher when introduced and later they reduced even the regular price.
), which was quite disappointing. I'm mostly disappointed here because they are very good plugins, I enjoy to use. Interestingly XLN replied in the comments section of the new XLN Life intro video that such updates will be coming:

I also hope that they'll also update AD2 and XO. Since I got both there had been no feature updates at all (but lot's of updates for the updaterJiggSaw wrote: Tue Dec 05, 2023 6:32 pm I will never (and I really mean never) depend on feature updates from XLN. Yeah I saw that.... they've also been saying updates are coming for like 2~ years now. But they had time to work on a brand new product.Fannon wrote: Tue Dec 05, 2023 6:37 pm

Hmmm, have to agree with the 5 minutes fun thing...sort of reminds me of a MAX device in live...maybe as a iOS app for $10 but not as a $100 VST.
Looks like they took a chuck of XO and bolted it on to a sample slicer with a (Euclidian?) beat generator. Personally I just wish they had updated XO- been nothing for years.
Download this when I got in along with the new Moog Mariana synth. Both already deleted.

I think the link to the product page probably summarizes it about good as anything could.dumbledog wrote: Tue Dec 05, 2023 5:39 pm For the OP, would you mind putting in a quick summary in the top post as to what this is, so we don't have to click through first? It'd help give readers a glance to see if it's in a category they'd be interested in. Thanks much in advance![]()

A hipster producer's dream app.
The only thing that is missing to complete the AI saturation of indie dance and modfi funk whackbonk house music is for the AI to pick out 'random' bits it 'likes' and then assemble that into an arrangement.

You haven't used it long enough. And I think all agree that $109 as a special intro price is ridiculous, as will be the normal price. Use the thing for several hours and you'll hear the same rhythms over and over but with just different clips based on your imported audio. Yes, you can edit the rhythms, but the fun factor declines rapidly at that point. I'd also like an explanation as to just what their "AI" is responsible for.gondii wrote: Tue Dec 05, 2023 6:59 pm I'm not really understanding all the negative reactions. I think it's pretty cool and I have not encountered any bugs. Also I don't find the price really that crazy.

It's a wav loop slicer that automaps to midi keys and has a built in sequencer.dumbledog wrote: Tue Dec 05, 2023 5:39 pm For the OP, would you mind putting in a quick summary in the top post as to what this is, so we don't have to click through first? It also has a wav recorder but you can just load wav samples from your hard drive too. Then it 'randomly' selects certain elements from the slices to use in it's rhythm that is loaded onto the built in sequencer. One can manually adjust the rhythm and used slices.

I really haven't used it much and I can see the novelty potentially wearing off rather quickly. I am already getting the feeling that the sound input matters less than it should and I am not sure yet how comfortable I feel with just recording stuff and hitting "random". Doesn't really feel like making music. So I will definitely exhaust the demo time before making any purchasing decisions.burkek wrote: Tue Dec 05, 2023 7:28 pm You haven't used it long enough. As for the price, a lot of instruments and fx can be fairly expensive and I feel this one does something unique and has a pretty extensive feature set, slick design and decent workflow. The cloud syncing works almost instantly for me and is a cool idea. But also the sound/pattern variations are pretty neat. I just really don't find it outrageous.

Reading comments under PB and CLN showcasing videos make me always wonder why in specialized forum we evaluate an app as a

meh

and under YouTube videos is always the app of the century/game changer/ killer app

did they ever tried some apps to make this comparison?
I don’t want to say that is a bad app at all but after 1 hour demo I lost all the initial interest and I couldn’t imagine me using on regular basis.
