Absolutely, every form of synthesis has its uses. I can imagine specific uses for wavetables...

...mainly for when I want to really irritate the neighbours :hihi:

As for what's inside it, dunno. There must be a lot more digital stuff inside Wave than their other analogues though. Lots of miniaturised Chinese mice turning a treadwheel that powers some kind of digital gremlin?

Yes, I think so. I don't know the wave well enough to know if poly aftertouch would be useful, but as they try to clone more than others, perhaps not.
Does it recognize polyphonic aftertouch, though? That’s my question. All the modern DSI and Sequential synths recognize it, but don’t transmit it.

I owned the Waldorf PPG Wave software which sounded great, but I had stability issues. So after waiting for an update or Arturia to produce a PPG Wave this may go to the top of my list... good excuse to get some hardware.

New vid. I suspect some of the patches in previous vids might have been in the Enhanced mode (smoother scans, less artifacts than the Wave 2.2/2.3). This vid shows what it sounds like in the Original Firmware mode, with the rougher scans and obvious transposition artifacts typical of the original deal. I really dig the original, unvarnished PPG sound in the lower register in particular.

Nah, he was actually fine. I just watched it again and he sorta cracks me up

I generally don’t have an urge to buy digital hardware synths because I save my precious desktop space for analogs or hybrids (my Virus being the exception). But this thing has my GAS raging so I might need to figure out how to fit it into my studio. Please, let there be a module!

Yep. I made an exception for the Osmose because it's such an incredible keyboard. That said, the Eiganmatrix(s) is right up my alley.

I'd be surprised if we don't eventually see D versions of all of Behringer's bigger polys... Wave, Pro-16 and JT-16 etc.

Yes but only a single oscillator when used poly.

More like a Jupiter1. I've spotted the odd vid about the JTmini but not had chance to actually watch them as yet. Looking at that photo, I don't see sync and a few other bits, so not quite sure how cut down it is, but that might be available in the menus? But a mono Jupiter definitely appeals. I'll buy the big JT when it comes out, but really I don't need 16 voices in the slightest. I suspect I'll only use 16 voices for monster unison mono patches. Though a 16 voice Jupiter mono patch can't really be described as "only" :hihi:

A monophonic Jupiter-8 is a Pro Mars! One of my favorite synths! The JT Mini doesn't sound like it in the video, unfortunately, but then the Pro Mars doesn't have 3 oscillators and patch memory.
