I signed up for their forum to ask the question as I don't see it in the videos.
My main use for Scaler 2 is identify the weird scale I came up with for a main part of a song, then suggest chords that would work with that scale. As it stands it just spits out dozens of scales in any possible key, but like most of us I would assume, it's obvious to me what key the melody I came up with is in, just not the chords or scale.
Hopefully you can specify what key the mystery scale is in, or at least have Scaler sort results by key.

I know people use Scaler for other things, I just find I'm best served by it as a scale finder and chord suggesting device. I don't need help with riffs etc.

I hope that they keep the chord suggestion in version 3.

Me neither. I find the riffs just to be complicating things moving out of scale etc. The basic functionality is very useful.machinesworking wrote: Wed Feb 05, 2025 6:27 pm I know people use Scaler for other things, I just find I'm best served by it as a scale finder and chord suggesting device. I'm not a musician, but I've designed sounds that others use to make music. http://soundcloud.com/obsidiananvil

I'm actually getting pretty hyped for this. It looks like they are making a lot of functions much easier to use.

As much as they pride themselves having a background in classical music, I'd love to get more descriptive and modern performances, phrases and rhythms than Andantino, Slargando, or Piacevole. Sure, it's referencing ways expression is decribed in classical sheet music, but I'd say those who actually know what these mean probably don't really need Scaler.
