Yes congratulations Bitwig. This is very exciting!

Lot to read through let alone use?

The clip enhancements are awesome. All of the automation changes look great, and the new 'hold' and 'spread' for points will be so useful.

It's not necessarily what I would have asked for, but I'm very happy to see it and it's an upgrade I'll be happy with.

so impressive update! loving the new arranger/editor overview, small thing but very convenient!

It's been a while since I watched a video on a DAW update and went "wow" several times. They've added quite a few things for the automation workflow that I have been DYING to have in Ableton.

There will, of course, be those again who are deeply disappointed that THEIR features didn't get added or updated. Not new devices, no new sounds, no video support, and no additions to the The Grid.

This update seems to be aimed at the more traditionally working DAW crowd, less the modular-focussed one. And that's good.

Looks like a solid update.

does not run on my trusted machine saying:
A CPU which supports the AVX2 instruction set is required to run Bitwig Studio (since version 6.0)
that's not good.

Dope update. Gets better and better.

can someone let me know if we've lost the ability to edit multiple midi clips at the same time? I can't select the pen icon for more then one tracks at once for multi track/layer editing. I can easily switch between one track and the other but I can't edit both at once?

The enhancements look great - agreed (as soon as they will work smoothly, what will be achieved - seen at least right now - not so soon...). But the mass of glitches/bugs at this moment is too big to count them... In only a few minutes of testing I stumbled into several of them. And according to Bitwig's very 'special' way to react to user feedback I won't collect them, but wait, until using BS at least doesn't trigger my frust to close it very quickly (as it now is the case).

Only one really BIG plus (in my eyes quite impressive for Bitwig...): No "colorful, awesome looking new devices" with countless interesting aspects, which anyway will be forgotten immediately (as it was nearly almost always the case)...

Maybe, but the automation improvements can be used by anyone and are more easily interchangeable with the modulators, which seems very nice.

It seems you can even drag to and from segments to automation...!

The fact that they decided to make automation clips modular and have their own loop points irrespective of the parent clip is awesome! In that regard it's not even a child clip, just a clip on its own. Really cool!

I thought it was always the case you had to select the layer/track you wanted to change, and only viewed all notes from multiple tracks. How would it know which you wanted add to otherwise?

I guess there was some kind of a hack where you could put the note to all edited (selected) clips - with drum editor view.
