zebra 3? not yet, but soon, maybe. maybe soon...SamDi wrote: Wed Oct 15, 2025 7:03 pm Seems with Serum 2, Zebra 3 and now Omnisphere 3 is the fattest year of new synths since long.
But they don‘t open multi-sample capabilities for user? Was my biggest hope for Omnisphere 3. Would be a big disapointment for me.

You're right. There is some risk, that they don't gonna get it done this yearfisherKing wrote: Wed Oct 15, 2025 7:42 pmzebra 3? not yet, but soon, maybe. maybe soon...SamDi wrote: Wed Oct 15, 2025 7:03 pm Seems with Serum 2, Zebra 3 and now Omnisphere 3 is the fattest year of new synths since long.

big news wow, i just checked the official video, need to check more, i really hoped for a mod panel like ALCHEMY has it :/ still no morphable pad it seems morphing between layers (not the faders thing).
one big thing im worried is about backwards compatibility, i hope and i would prefer Omnisphere3 being a seperate vst now as with all new versions broke many patches and especially with the so called remastered presets and stuff the patches will sound different.

checking the official page now, i will get Omnisphere v3 for sure but i kind of feel a bit not as hyped as i thought, i expected more GUI enhancements and stuff, also more wow moments, seems a solid new version and they will update this beast a lot again with more stuff, just isnt the WOW hyped v3 version i hoped for, especially the GUI seems mostly being the same. sure never break a already awesome product but i wished for GUI optimizations i dont see many/any on their official interface tour :/ the FX rack is big news but i peep on the main synth now.
especially the Mutation is lackluster, Absynth 5 already has/had more options, i would have expected stuff like that and e.g. mutate all effects only etc.

be warned! i already showcased that A LOT, that backwards compatibility is NEVER 100%! i got Omnisphere 1 and v1.5 seperately installed on my notebooks as a lot of patches sound in Omnisphere differently cause the WAVEshaping was changed and some more stuff.Echoes in the Attic wrote: Wed Oct 15, 2025 7:12 pmSite says "Full backwards compatibility with all previous versions!"_BLADERUNNER_ wrote: Wed Oct 15, 2025 7:07 pm Anyone know if Omnisphere 2 patches work on 3 without any modifications?
i will check if you can install the VST3 version so i will have v2 as vst2 and Omnisphere 3 as vst3
and a lot of patches were sounding VERY different.

I also see Omnisphere as one of the few VSTi that has been an investment. Even if you're not grabbed by what is on offer now, history has shown this company has provided massive new features for free during the lifecycle of their products. As you've alluded to, I'm sure they aren't stopping here!Caine123 wrote: Wed Oct 15, 2025 7:54 pm checking the official page now, i will get Omnisphere v3 for sure but i kind of feel a bit not as hyped as i thought, i expected more GUI enhancements and stuff, also more wow moments, seems a solid new version and they will update this beast a lot again with more stuff, just isnt the WOW hyped v3 version i hoped for, especially the GUI seems mostly being the same. sure never break a already awesome product but i wished for GUI optimizations i dont see many/any on their official interface tour :/ the FX rack is big news but i peep on the main synth now.

could anyone tell if the "Fader" quadzone modulation was actually polyphonic expression? Obviously with a midi cc, it would be a single control for all notes. But then use aftertouch and MPE and lfo's as other examples of modulations here. So you'd think it would need to be polyphonic (and he said so at one point, but migh thave been talking about the patch), but sometimes they do make weird claims. Hopefully it would merge the mpe expresion into a single slider value. But having that graphical slider there make me skeptical.
Speaking of the LFO's, I wonder if they finally made them all optionally polyphonic, or still just the one last one.

Grrr.... so frustrating. I bought Atmosphere obviously a very long time ago, and just didn't prioritize getting Omnisphere. So I waited, and waited... I finally bought O2 last December, figuring an update was never coming. 10 months later, I have to pay to upgrade again for $199. If I had just waited, I would have paid the exact same price for the upgrade from Atmosphere to Omni of $249. I understand there is a lot of new content, and that's great, but seems the upgrade is a bit steep considering I just paid it a few months ago. Rob Papen Explorer upgrade prices seem more fair with less cost if you have the latest vs. an older version. Probably will wait another 10 years in hopes version 4 will come out. Sadly, most of the content I like is the old content from Atmosphere in there.
