Zebra 3 is a new plugin, developed from scratch. It exists in parallel to Zebra Legacy, which remains its own, independent product. We will keep Zebra 2 alive because its presets won’t be compatible to Zebra 3. Thus, you won’t get access to Zebra Legacy if you purchase a Zebra 3 license.

I never had Serum 1, but when I got Serum 2, I could automatically use Serum 1.
It is not common that any software includes access to any previous version of that software. Like, when you buy the current version of some DAW, you do not get access to its previous versions. When you buy Hive 2, you get Hive 2 but not Hive 1.

It is the same with Zebra. But we did something that afaiaa Synapse did with Dune 1: When Dune 2 (?) became available, they turned Dune 1 into a separate products at an attractive price.

As a product, Zebra 2 is not available anymore - it was discontinued several years ago. What is available is Zebra Legacy, which is a bundle of Zebra 2 and all of its sound sets. Just like Synapse continued to sell Dune 1 for a while, we're selling Zebra Legacy as a bargain product. This also ensures that it is commercially viable for us to maintain Zebra 2 for those who rely on it for years to come.

From a business point of view, if we wanted to include Zebra 2 with Zebra 3, we would probably have to make Zebra 3 quite a bit more expensive. I do not think that is in the interest of the majority of people.

We are however considering a slightly cheaper bundle of the two which we'll occasionally or permanantly offer. The price of that bundle would pretty much reflect what Zebra 3 would cost, if Zebra 2 (which now is Zebra Legacy) was included.

Thanks for the info. Obviousy, my desire for Z2 came right after the earlier post by Chalisque, which was very reasonable. But ok. Let's see what the future brings.
