Blood pressure is thought to contribute to tinnitus, or to exacerbate it. I find drinking too much caffeine brings it out. Rarely get it otherwise; my BP is in the "very low" to "sphygmomanometer's broken" range.

I drink like 6 cups of coffee a day. Then again, if I have to choose between coffe and music I choose music, no doubt

further on what meffy said...
a good friend of mine had their tinnitus *caused* by taking blood pressure drugs ! apparantly this was a known possible side-effect of the drugs ...

to tell you the truth, my nostril hairs only seem to itch when something's wrong, curl up tighter or twist or god knows. sometimes when people lie to me my ears go almost completely deaf, like i'm hearing through wax.
but there you go.
but there you go.
you come and go, you come and go. amitabha neither a follower nor a leader be tagore "where roads are made i lose my way" where there is certainty, consideration is absent.

im 31 and i've had tinnitus for many years. i think it was caused by having spent too much time next to drummers with no control and across the room from guitarists that kept turning up the amps they stood in front of because they were aimed at their legs instead of their heads. going to loud concerts and the occasional other volume related incidents just compounded the problem.
these days i've got multiple frequencies rining away 24-7. i notice it more when im having sinus troubles but its always there, and it sucks. i wish there was something that could be done about it.

I've got pretty serious hearing loss. I used to do Roadie work back when I was a teen & never paid attention when the pyro guys would cover their ears at the arena shows..That and playing Sludge-Core a few times too many onstage without ear plugs kinda messed me up a little..But hey, Punk Rock, right..?
I've had ringing in my ears for at least the last 15 years, & there's no way in hell I can get to sleep without some kind of white noise..
Last year I had an incident where I uh..accidentally discharged a shotgun in an almost empty apartment, & that one really put the whammy on me; I was almost completely deaf for over a week; it was like having my head inside a cathedral bell..I'm pretty sure I've lost about 30-40% of my hearing range & it hasn't improved whatsoever & heavily effects my ability to hear mids & highs. Mixing my own stuff is a huge chore as I know I cannot rely on what I'm actually hearing and seriously effects my output..
I've put off going to a doctor about it becuase I really don't want to be told just how bad it is, but I'm really afraid it's getting worse.
Protect your hearing or you're going to regret it.
Fo Real..

im only 26 and i work in a music store
at the end of a big day, its awfull...it rings for the whole night, same thing after a band reharsal, but a couple of years ago it was just the night after the practice, not like 2 or 3 straight days...and yes, i wear plugs almost 18 hours a day, sometimes coupled with a huge construction headset
i get tested and my frequency and threshols are still way over average tho', thats the part i dont fully understand

I saw a documentary about the dangers of hearing loss, and apparently above the age of about 21 or 25, there's a detectable loss of hearing - every single month - that's without any loud bangs or music. Thankfully that doesn't mean we'll all go deaf before we get old, but damage to your hearing is cumulative and irreversible. I've been to a few gigs which caused tinitus for about a week after; a friend of mine was unable to use the phone for several days it was so bad after a gig. So I'm not taking any chances from now on - it'll be earplugs at loud gigs from now on (actually it sounds better that way, most I've been to were so loud that it just became a dull roar, with your fingers in your ears you could actually hear the music)
